    Area size in NWN2?
    This is a topic where we're hesitant to give a firm answer because its one of those things that we want to reserve the right to change our minds about at the last second.

    You will be able to make outdoor areas with playable spaces at least as big as 320m x 320m... beyond that, I dont think theres much to say at this point. Hope that helps.

    P.S. 3 vs P.S. 2 - image quality in NWN2 ?
    This is a good question. At the moment, both versions of the game essentially look the same. There is a slight difference in some of the vector normalization techniques used on the 2.0 cards versus the 3.0 cards. However, I think most people would be hard pressed to visually locate where the differences are. I can...but can you? ;) The biggest difference at the moment is like you already said, the 3.0 version is significantly more efficient since it can do the majority of its work in a single pass.
