Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Script language
We aren't making drastic changes to NWScript. People comfortable with scripting in the first game will have absolutely no problem with scripting in NWN2. We are adding many new api calls, and there are some new features in the toolset to make scripting less of an annoyance. We have no plans for a script wizard, and Lilac Soul's Script Generator will work with the new game.

    Animation on placeable and creatures
Animation is quite the beast. Creating new animations is not a trivial task, even for the developers. For all the cool animations you will see in the final product, talented animators (Trent, Zaza, Ryan, and Shon) had to handcraft all of them with expensive software. The quality and the advancements of the animation system are really outstanding compared to the first game - facial animation, mounts, and skinning are all quite different now and are pretty complicated. Also, with every animation, the game engine needs to know how to use the new animation so it can be played, which isn't easily moddable. Not to say its not possible for the community to create animations, but it probably will be limited to only the most dedicated modders. Also, Placeables can be animated. I hope that answers some of your questions on animation.

    Radial fog line
    Yep, it has. :)

    Grouping Placeables
Most of your suggestions are already in the new toolset! Yay!!!

How is the world map going to work?
You guys who haven't played Fallout and Fallout 2 are really missing out. Seriously.
