Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Radial fog line
I believe that has now been addressed.

    Self-shadowing on models?

Well, let's hear it Brian. Is it done, or isn't it? [IMG]
I'm working on it. But I'll need some peace and quiet to get it done... ;)

question about reflective surfaces and tilesets
It was good...of course. ;) However, any details that show up here will result in a locked thread. Sorry guys, but some things just have to wait. In the end you'll get to see it all anyway.

    Familiars and Animal companions
As long as you don't mind familiars not being combat critters then you don't have anything to worry about. I know it's easy to worry especially with the limited amount we can talk about things. We've got some smart folks on the team - hopefully we won't make too many gaffs. :)

question about reflective surfaces and tilesets
    :)

Anthony, why did you change your post? I liked it before it was edited to remove all the cool info.
Move along, there is nothing to see here. ;)

Gamespot article mentioning the fall of Black Isle and the founding of Obsidian Entertainment

Very interesting. Regarding the IWD license - I seem to recall that JE Sawyer, who is now at Obsidian, worked on IWD II and was somewhat disappointed in his work on that title. I think he was overly critical. I liked the game. In any case, I wonder if Obsidian would like him to take another shot at an IWD adventure and whether he would like to do that?
I sit right across the hall from Josh and I have picked his brain many times about IWD. I have never heard him mention anything about being disappointed in it (IWD). I rather got the impression that he really like IWD and what they accompished with it. I'll see if if I can get him to post his thoughts here if has time.

    More:
In fairness to you JE (and the IWD team), sometimes a game can be just a game of that genere w/o it being earth shattering or ground breaking.I think, for what it was, IWD was a pleasure to play IMO.
    QFT

    Text coloration
Okay, this is what I can tell you so far. We do have multiple font support. Adam went ahead and implemented freetype for us to use for the GUI. This is not for the converstation editor though, as it currently will use whatever font is defined in the conversation dialog. Does that make sense? We have not finalized our font support plan for the actual in-game dialogs though. That willbe happening very soon though.

How is the world map going to work?
The current spec is most similar to Fallout.
