I'm building a support character who will (eventually) be part of a HOF party. I want him to handle any and all dialogues that I can, and fill a lot of magical support.

The party is well stocked in both the Arcane and Divine magical areas as well (not counting this guy).

So far, this is what I've got:

Druid 12 (Barkskin)/Bard 11 (War Chant of the Sith).

I'm considering adding levels in any of the above classes, but also flirting with the idea of a few Barbarian levels, for the Rage, better speed (run away!) and more HP. Rogue is another idea. I plan on having him with weak physical stats, and although I never want this guy near combat, Evasion might prove very useful.

Would adding more levels in the Bard, or Druid classes help, or am I better off exploring a new class like Barbarian or Rogue (or something else)?

    TIA

BTW, I'm not set on a Race for this guy yet either. I do not mind using a race with an ECL penalty, especially since the point of this character is to be a supporter.

I already have 3 Drow in my party though, and 2 Aasimar (I did the prologue with 2 Drow and 2 Aasimar to give the "main characters" a little head-start).

Edit: I switched a whole bunch around! :)

Add druid levels. Not only the level 9 spells are great.
I wouldn't bother about barkskin. My normal mode game was so easy that I just omitted casting it after some time and in HoF mode AC won't matter that much anyway.

If you just want to get the maximum support keep this character as a level1 deep gnome bard for the whole game, cast invisibility onto him and have him run away from trouble, if he dies just cast "raise dead".
This way you'll have your other characters level faster, it's not fun however.

That's waaaay too cheesey for me. Although it's possible I'd play him as a Bard up to level 11 and then squat for a loooong time to reach equal Druid levels.

So, your vote is for more Druid levels. They're better than the extra Bard levels. Veeery interesting.

I say start off as Bard, get 11 levels, and then level squat till you get Druid 12...you just have to keep singing War Chant of the Sith and Tymora's Melody anyway! :p

Or you could advance as usual with Druid levels, but make sure you take Bard first, because Normal mode doesn't need high AC values that badly, but that +5 to AC REALLY comes in handy during HoF mode!! Especially if you are using the 72 AC threshold from the JUPP...

I'll probably squat to level 10 druid. No XP penalties that way, and I'll get a lot of extra HP that this character could probably use. I don't know if I'll squat after level 12 Druid, or just start taking XP penalties.

This character will be a Drow, and I don't mind the slower advancement since he'l usually be out of harms way. :)
