Hiya guys, today I decided to start a solo game. I find that going solo is more fun than with a group because I don't know I'm like this. But this time, I'm going to try doing the complete trilogy solo and I need your help for which class I should play!

First, for Baldur's Gate 1, I'm gonna play with Bgtutu so I can have kits or things like that. Oh yeah I will be playing on insane mode for more fun  . For baldur's gate 2, I'm planning on installing the tactics mode with the items upgrade so that I can have better items but harder fights!

Well that it, I'm going on a solo tactics insane game and I don't know which character to make. I was thinking of doing a wild mage or a f/m/t but now I don't really know what to do!

I'd got with a fighter/mage. Once you get access to Haste and Stoneskin, you'll be pretty much unstoppable.

Where to put your proficiency points is another question. There's a phenomenal hammer and flail in SOA but nothing much in BG1. Then again, you could probably handle BG1 just wielding a long sword and shield, or with a bow and arrow for the harder fights.

For those of you who have done soloing I have a question.

I can see how most fights are acheivable in solo, but in SOA and TOB there are several fights that are really difficult with lots of tough opponents. Do you have to reload alot when you get incapacitated and nobody is there to bail you out? Plus you can't retreat and have someone else take the front while you heal up. At the difficulty levels you're playing it sure will be a challenge. Have fun.

I would still have to go with a fighter-thief, probably of the half-orc variety. Mage fights will take some time, but they all have finite numbers of spells, so you can wait them out. Although I've never tried it, an Inquisitor might work really well also, as you'll have the beef to go hand to hand, and the dispel magic to take on mages. I've never soloed with an Inquisitor, but it could certainly work.

@ Scot - mages use contingencies to make them go invisible when incapacitated.

I'd keep in mind that there's some nasty magic fights that can cause problems. I find Sorcerers to be quite powerful, particularly after a certain point in BG2.

But alot of people call Kensai duelled to mage around lvl 13-15 as the best way to go solo.

I've tried going solo a couple of times, but I always get disracted by the NPCs
