[IMG] About two months ago I burned out on BG2. I had played all the way through as a cavalier and only read posts or walkthroughs when I was really stuck.

After that, I tried to restart with a few novelty parties, but my interest just fizzled out after a few sessions.

I'm ready to launch a new game, but I need a kick in the pants.

Any ideas on how to make it fun again? I want to play one, maybe two custom characters, but I'm not sure what class to go for.

BTW, please don't go into the K/M thing. The only dual I want to see in my class name is dualist, and you cant be one in BG2!

For some ideas on unusualy party setups have a look at Ragusa's recent post:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001910.html

You could also try the search option as (as you can probably imagine) this has been a poular topic in the past. I started a similar trend with a post about an all female party.

As for what mix you might enjoy - well what things do you like about the game?
    - have you done all of the romances (including Anomen)?
    - do you want a challenge (like my non-magic-users only team)?
    - are there any classes you've never tried before - like a jester?
    - are there any NPCs you haven't used much in previous games (they all have some dialogue and stories)?
    - Do you want to try going solo?
    - is there a theme that appeals - like wizards only, thieves, only, short people only etc/
    - Do you want to go back and play BG1, IWD or PT instead to give you a break from BG2?

Anyway, good luck with the ideas.

Just another wuick thought, how about setting yourself a goal like completitng every quest in the game (Good and bad and all NPCs) now that's a challenge.

I did that and thought that it would be boring a second time round. I played as a male assasin first time and had a great time doing the romances, little/big quests, getting realy popular in Faerun, becoming a slayer, the story line etc. and i thought it would never be good again. so started a new as a female elf sorceres and used shadow keeper and the no exp cap to make the game realy fun + interesting. (basicly i used cheats). it was realy fun havng a level 50 sorceres. i tell what John is gonna have a hell of a time trying to defeat me.

    Go play Planescape:Torment.
I started a new game today and spent like 9 hours straight on it.
All the Black Isle RPGs are good, IMO, though BG1 leaves a lot to be desired..

    Slappy;

Thanks! Reading that, I may try the archer. I played on in P&P and it was one of my favorite characters. Me and my friend the barbarian dominated Greyhawk.

Holygrit - did you change alignments also with your new power game?
