I'd like some help in selecting a name for my (American) Fantasy Football Team. I'm open to just about any suggestion, although I usually pick names that require a few more brain cells than "Smashers" or "Bashers" or something of the like.

Previous versions of my team have included names such as: Krakatoa Explosion, Scallywags and Spanish Inquisition. I've also toyed with the idea of picking a more comedic name. For example, I could name my team after the baseball player with the greatest name ever: Rusty Kuntz - it would certainly pass the screen that filters out not-so-nice words. I've also toyed with Insta-Gibbers, but I'm playing with a group that isn't much into gaming, so they probably wouldn't understanded the reference - that's the main reason I haven't gone with that name in the past.

Call it 'The Lombardi Sweep' -- they should know the reference.

Edit: It's also called 'The Packer Sweep' or if you want to be real technical, the play call in the huddle was:

49 Sweep -- to the right
28 Sweep -- to the left

Perhaps '28 Sweep' would be best... the uniniatiated would think you're a SF fan with 49 sweep.

I once competed in a fantasyleague with the mighty Greenbay Peckers. It's not so very different, but then again...it oh so is. :D

When I pick a name for my fantasy hockey team, I usually go for what best matches with the logo I choose. I have had teams called the Patriots and the Cowboys, but they're already taken in football.. ;)

How about "the Golddiggers" or "the Blue Demons"?

My fantasy team names are always 'North Harbour' or some variation thereof (it was 'North North Harbour' when I was living in England).

 You know, I never even considered "The Foppish Idiots" as a name. Of course, I never considered "The Aldeths" either.

I just name mine after my dog, Shasta.

For you the foppish [anything] sounds great.
