Yep - it's that time again!

While I myself will probably not be participating this year (well - I might decide to make a sprint in the last 6 days of November, which is really the only time I have free that month), I still feel the urge to bring it to the attention of you lot

So - who's NaNoing this year?

 

Well, I'd say Ara's probably out, being on vacation in the UK and all. And I kind of doubt she has a laptop to write on.

 

Hmmh, I might be interested. Last time this was, I was not, but now I could very well be, seeing I've found writing quite enjoyable.
Well, I'm going to give myself some time to think, but maybe I will be motivated...

Well, I guess that's what I get for trying to speak for someone else.

 

After checking the link provided, it looks okay. Just a question: do I have to associate with people once I sign up? As in, are there story-swapping/critiquing sessions that I'd be asked to participate in. I don't want to be part of something akin to high school English class.

 

Nope - you can be a total NaNo hermit if you like - there's no compulsion to share at all.

Hmmm... this will be the first year they haven't clashed with my exams. Hmmm....

 

Hmm, as a new Creative Writing student, I guess I should give it a go...

Too much RL getting in the way, I think, which also explains why my IWD2 story has stalled.

I'll have to see how life is going and how busy I'll be closer to November, but I'm tempted to give it a shot.

 

Currently thinking of basing mine in the 16th or 17th century. Haven't quite decided if I'm going to go with some twisted history or not, yet. Going to try and form it around the song Conquistador, by Procol Harum.

Going to be mainly set in Europe. Trying to focus on the religous conflicts during those times. Prehaps the Anglo-Spanish wars or the Eighty Years War.

 

Anyone else getting last minute nerves? I'm not sure I can pull 50,000 words from my plot...

 

Me too, with stuff going on at the moment, I'm not sure I will actually have time...

- What are the limitations, if any, on 'adult content'?
- Are fanfics okay?
- Will I become a desolate shell on the first criticism (if any)?
- What format is okay? Word? DOS? Hieroglyphics?
