Naming John Doe

    I'm expierimenting with writing a book and I'm trying to figure out what to call the Main Character. The only thing I could think of was Darian... but it sounds so frilly. I'm wondering if you guys could help me out.

    Here's a little about him...
    He's the son of a ferrier, so the name has to be simple... nothing over 7 letters.
    He's also of noble heritage (but doesn't know it), so his name has to be suiting for when he finds out.
    He is a fantasy character, so John Doe doesn't work.
    He's a fairly burly guy who spent most of his free time practising his swordplay... so it can't be anything frilly.
    He's human, so Elven names don't work too good.

    Aragorn or Faramir is something to work towards.

    The great minds of SP should come up with something in no time flat.

    Theo might work if I out something on the end of it, but I don't want it to be a common name like Gordon or Edward either. Theodre, Theotil, Theouli. What do you think.

    Theodre is too close to "Theoden" for my taste.

    How about "Theofric" to give him a Nordic flair?

    Bentili and Ferdis are good ones. What is Rexi and Zardax? I was thinking Theoden's dad Theodred for Theodre. I was thinking of asking LKD if I could use Keldin.
