I plaied BG2 atleast 5 years ago, and then the romance i chose was Viconia, and i did it perfectly. Now i'm playing it over again, and i tried romancing Aerie, but i went wrong somewhere, and it broke. So i desided to go back to what i do best, and court Viconia instead. So i took her in {the romance with Aerie was already through by that time}. Problem is... the romance doesn't start..

I tried the SetGlobal("ViconiaRomance","GLOBAL",1) cheat, but got the following responce:

So does having a failed romance in the past prevent you from starting a new one?
If that's the case, will using one of those multi-romance/concurrent-romance cheats help? Where do i get them? I see mentions of them everywhere, but not a single place where you can actually download {if it's a patch} or how you activate {if it's console code} that thing.

 

I thought I remembered reading that you could do a new romance if you completed one.

Are you sure you:

1) Broke off the romance with Aerie (there is a point where she gets really angry with you, IIRC)?

2) Are able to romance Viconia (she won't romance Elves)?

 

What he did should have no effect on trying to input a variable using the console; he just got the variable wrong. ViconiaRomance is the timer that counts down to the next LoveTalk, while ViconiaRomanceActive is the one that determines if the romance is not started / started / committed / screwed. The full line that you would type into the "cheat" area is:

2) I'm a halfelf. I was a halfelf when i plaied for the first time too, and the romance worked purrfectly then.

Err, i just tried that, and nothing happened. Then i followed up with the countdown cheat, and still nothing happened. Meow?

 

Assuming you had to choose Aerie over Viconia in one of Viccy's LoveTalks, you may need to reset the romance. What you'll need to do in this case is somewhat more complicated. Using the cursor, click on Viconia's portrait on the right side bar, and then don't move the mouse! It's got to stay on Viconia's portrait while you type in this code:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("LoveTalk","LOCALS",1)

Also note that there are certain places where LoveTalks simply won't fire, including the Underdark.

 

No, Felinoid, i told ya: i had no lovetalks yet with Vicci, because her roamnce has not began at all! I also could not choose anyone "over" her, because i only took her into my party >after< Aerie dumped me; so until that point, the two of them were out of eachother's equations.
How about Spellhold? Is Bodhi's little playhouse among those areas where lovetalks don't happen?

No, you didn't. But given that, there's no reason that Viconia's LoveTalks wouldn't have started all on their own. Unless, of course, she simply doesn't like you, for whatever reason. Here's another code to try, to make sure that she does.
CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("ViconiaMatch","GLOBAL")
If it returns a 1, I don't know what to say. It may have something to do with your other problem, with your reputation, so that any time she's going to start up a LoveTalk, she instead leaves the party.

EDIT: There's a difference between doesn't and didn't. It not starting now doesn't mean it never started before.

And not to be petty, but...

 

Check your AerieRomanceActive value. If it's a 2 then no one else will romance you -- change it to either a 1 or 3.

You could also look at the romance guides in the BG2 section of SP. Look up which romance talk it was that allowed you to sleep with Aerie and reset it the Lovetalk variable to before that. However, you reached the end of the romance. You either sleep with her or you don't -- there are no more love talks after that IIRC.

IMO it's easier to adjust the romance variables in SK.

 

It's 3. Does that mean we're together? I thought she dumped me, but now, after she saw my auto-slayer change in the morning, she refered to me as "my dear". Ugh, sometimes this game reminds real life so much that it's scary.

 

3 means it's over.

 

So why is she suddenly calling me "My Dear"?

 

I have no clue. Maybe she says that to you whether you romance her or not.
