[IMG] Ok i've just started chapter 2 (first time through with my first party).

My thoughts - having only really played the mostly 2nd Edition (as i understand it) ruled CRPGS (e.g. BG series, original IWD) when i made my characters this time i didn't realise a few things -

    1. Fighters don't need high dex because they get heavy armour which doesn't allow them that dex bonus, which is why my barbarian has a crazy high AC (for the chapter/level) by wearing Stud Leather +1. Only 2 or 3 AC less than my full plate wearing Fighter/Barb.

    2. Mages have some great spells and my Sorcerer needs more strength so he can become a sorcerer ranger and kick some ass (auto dual wield, run up to people and magic missile head shot yeeeeeehaw!).

I've just started the Ice palace part and still haven't found any magic bastard swords :( and the only great sword, enchanted that i have got is the Wandering sky one, bought from the shop in Targos. So where are they???

    Hmm can't think of anymore.

Oh yeah i can. I hate those auralites! I killed them all then 2 lightning strikes in killed (as in they were perfect health to dead) both my spellcasters. I had to reload, cos i couldn't be arsed to pay to get the raised lol. When do clerics get raise dead?

Also which is the considered best domain?

    That's all for now.

You will come along some good bastard swords, trust me! :D You are correct that you didn't find any good ones, in chapter 3 there are some nice ones. And by the way, Wandering Sky is a great sword, or didn't you mean a bastard sword?

For the cleric, you will get acces to level 5 spells at level 9. Raise dead is a level 5 spell. So wait a bit.

There actually isn't really the best domain. It all depends on playing style. You can take a look at what domain got what spells on this site: http://iwd2.unforgottenrealms.net/cleric_diety_spells.php

Just question yourself what spells you like best, pick the domain that is closests to your demands and pick that domain.

    Good luck!

I meant Wandering Sky as a greatsword. It was meant to be another sentence commenting on the lack of greatswords i've found so far.

On Wandering Sky it says can cast doom once, is that once ever or once per day? because once ever seems a bit harsh.

It's once per day I guess. I don't use it though.

It's once per day, my paladin has been wielding that thing throughout the entire game, and I use it quite frequently :spin:  .

Ah, thanks. I was a little confused because on everything else that is once per day it says so whereas on this it merely states - "Can cast doom Once." Now i don't have to worry about using it, in case (as with some stuff in the other IE games) when you finished up an items extra spell abilities (wands and wand-like stuff, quarterstaffs most commonly) the whole thing was gone.

There is no best domain for clerics. Think about your cleric. What will he/she be? A caster or fighter? Healer or bombardier? Defensive or offensive?

    I suggest:
Battleguard of Tempus for close combat
    Morninglord of Lathander for healer
    Stormlord of Talos for bombardier
    Demarch of Mask for specops

    I don't know much about others. :o
