My new ten books

    I found a neat offer in a store nearby recently, that gave me 10 random books in the fantasy/horror/sci-fi genre for a really low price, so i just had to buy it! (if not only for the fun of it ;) )

    Anyway, i was wondering if any of you have already read any of these books, and might be able to speak either good or bad about a book or maybe the author, as i haven't heard of any of them except for the planet of the apes book.

    I've got:

    "Bloodtide" by Melvin Burgess
    "A Life In The Future" by Martin Caidin (about Buck Rogers. It rings a bell, but i'm not sure though :hmm: )
    "Mystery Street" edited by Robert J. Randisi
    "Planet Of The Apes" based on the movie
    "Trickster" by Steven Harper
    "Amtrak Wars Iron Master" by Patrick Tilley
    "Black Valley" by Jim Brown
    "Master Of Many Treasures" by Mary Brown
    "Hand Of The King's Evil" by Chaz Brenchley
    "The Nomad" by Simon Hawke

    I have absolutely no idea where to start... :confused:

    Your going to have issues. The Simon Hawke book is the third in a series, so, unless you want to go and buy the first two (if they are even in print -- they're over 10 years old and that isn't great for fantasy paperbacks) you might as well chuck it.

    I can't help you on any of the rest, sorry.

    Actually upon closer inspection, the Amtrak Wars is also third in a series. Didn't think of that problem, thanks for pointing it out dmc. :)
    Guess they both get more or less abandoned for now then. Pity really, the Amtrak Wars looked rather interesting.

    The Amtrak wars is a reasonable series, although a little light for my tastes. What are you not sure about on Buck Rogers? Who he was, or this particular episode. (It was a cult TV series but you'd have to be pretty keen to remember the individual episodes)

    There were episodes in Buck Rogers :eek: I just remember Wilma Deering :)

    As for the books I think the Benchley is a part of a series as well
