Well, Sir rechet's new JUPP has inspired me to start a new game of IWD2.
Here is my planned party. I installed mods and fixes to remove favored class amd alignment restrictions so I could fool around with multiclassing with aboslutely no restrictions.

    1. Deep gnome max str, max wis, max dex, remainder in constitution. All level up points go to wisdom

    monk(1)/dreadmaster(x)/rogue(1)

Obviously, my main tank and melee damage dealer, with respectable spell casting ability for HOF

    2. deep gnome, max wisdom, max dex, max int, remainder in constitution. All level up in wisdom

    monk(1)/druid(x)

Secondary tank, with some theiving skills as well. Can shapeshift to dish out the pain as well

    3. bard11/sorc19

Diplomat and singer and secondary blaster

    4. Pally(1)/sorc(x)

    The standard bombardier.

    How's this for a tactics4iwd2 party?

I don't think it's a good idea giving only 1 str to character 2. I don't see the need for maxed int either. 14 int already grants 4 skillpoints per level. You need one per level for concentration, 8 for spellcraft and you can get a +7 modifier to the dex based skills simply by casting cat's grace (or even more with the air elemental shapeshift), so the remaining points should be enough to handle thievery, especially since you also have a bard who has pickpocket and other thieving skills as class skill.

Without the Rogue level you won't be much of a thief. All too many cross-class skills. Other than that - wis with monk level is always good, but either you don't have it during normal or suffer bad in terms of multiclassing exp penalty. What are you going to do before the monk level is taken?

Nice idea, but you do realize that you either give up the last bard song or upper level spells, right? Reaching level 30 without squatting is anything but a given.

[IMG] I can't say I approve of the disabled restrictions, but your party is pretty solid. I don't know what use you think the rogue level is for nr. 1, otherwise they look good. Except for the bard11/sorcerer19, that is. You'll get short-lasting and weak spells for taking this 'dual class' character:nolike:. Try mixing in 5 levels bard with a full sorcerer instead. Tymora's Melody is the bard's most powerful ability, though I admit that a 5 level mix in is a steep price to pay. But tymora's is worth it IMO:). It's important to realize that every extra level mixed in weighs proportionally more than the one's before, because of the leveling system: the 2nd level sets you back more than twice as much as only the 1st would, then the 3rd level taken is worse than the 2nd level, and so on. 5 levels mixed in is really steep, but 11 levels? Totally impractical:bad:.
Your 'dual classed' character will be dead weight, when your (nearly) pure-class characters achieve god-like power.

I only plan to put minimal points in lockpicking, search and disable trap, so it should'nt be that bad. Perhaps the bard can take a load off.

Like i said, I installed a mod that removes favored class, so no exp penalties to worry about.

Thanks for the bard5/sorc suggestion. Will definately do that
