I don't know what went wrong!

I really need it in the next few hours too... please help!

I have (had) Office 2003 installed on my computer. Word still works just fine, but I can't get Excel to open. I have a huge, very competitive fantasy baseball draft starting in just under 4 hours, and had all my players out in tiers and it was really sweet. But now I can't open it!

When I attempt to open Excel, I get error messages, and my computer attempts to install excel. I have no idea where my discs are (I bought that version of Word when it was fairly new... in 2004 IIRC).

Is Open Office a good enough quick fix (just to get me through the draft)?

Well, it better be unless somebody can point me to a place where I can get Excel 2003 for free, and fast!

    Please help if you can.

    TIA

Did you delete any files in the program folder? They might still be in the Recycle Bin.

What error messages do you receive?

I don't remember the error messages, but now when I try to open it, it just tries to install and asks for a disc.

I do remember running CCleaner earlier. Maybe that's it... How do I reverse those changes?

Open office can save your file in office formats, so yes a good change it will work

If important files have been deleted and aren't in the Recycle Bin, you will need to reinstall Excel. :( In the meantime, as Merlanni says, try using Open Office.

Yep, that's what I did. And after a big fight with the Wife (who insists I did something wrong to uninstall Excel), she just took out the disc and reinstalled it anyway.

    Thanks guys!
