In the morning of Sunday the 24th of November 1991, Freddie Mercury slipped into a coma and eventually died of AIDs.

I now this may not mean much to anyone else but i would just like to say a little tribute to him.

I can till remember being brought up in my early childhood with my Father's Queen records playing in the backround, and i can still recall the day he died. I was only 6 years old, yet i wept and so did my father.
So what he was only an entertainer right?
No to me and the entire generation before me he was an idol. His always positive outlook and manic yet sophisticated behaiviour made thousands fall in love with him.
Not to mention of course his musical genius and versatility in both rock and opera.
His songs have become anthems for Generations past and future and i just hope his legacey will never be forgotton.
Mr Mercury is the real King.

    Only the good die young.

Poodle Wacker, I listened to and loved Queen before you were born. I got in terrible mood when the news came that Freddie died.
I still believe someone made that virus on purpose. And that someone should pay for it.
But that won't bring back Freddie nor anyone who died from AIDS.

There was a concert in Wembley, a sor of "Tribute to"... If anyone of you never heard of Queen, please do find that concert. Almost all "faces" came to share respect to Freddie and his work. And the concert was awsome. In fact, on that concert I saw for the first time a band called Extreme - which lead me to take this nick.

    But I'm brabbling again...
    Freddie, we love you!

[IMG] When I was sixteen I was a mod, and found out my otherwise face mod boyfriend secretly idolized Freddie Mercury. I was horrified. I'm looking at him, in his three-button suit -- Mercury's style of excess was everything mod is not. "But Bobby, how can you?" said I, "he is the Anti-Mod!" Well, then my boyfriend plays "Who Needs You" for me, and I realized that even the Anti-Mod has his good points.

I loved Queen from the first moment I heard them. The only thing I regret is that I didn´t start listening on them earlier. I had just opened my eyes for music when Freddy died and it was a hard blow. But Queen is my all time favourite band. There is another sad thing now that Mercury is dead and that is that the rest of the band have done We will rock you together with Five that was the lowest they could sink and I lost alot of my respect for the living bandmembers.

Yea, one of the all time greatest gone forever.
I was with them since the early 80's, Jazz was one of the first records I possessed.
I remember that I was almost beaten by 3 girls on a party, because as I saw them arrive I started singing "Fat Bottom Girls". :D

I don't remember the day that Fardock Bulsara (real name of Freddie Mercury) died of that terrible virus (I guess I was still too young, I was six at the time), but I have all the CD's of Queen and got lots of concerts and documenteries of Queen of tape. At that concert in Wembley after his death, you could really find out the greatness of his voice, because all artists who tried to immitate him failed horribly (except maybe for George Michael).

In my opinion Freddie Mercury was the best singer ever and I am sure lots of other people would agree.

Queen is good however I think there are better bands. But Queen did really write a part of the rock-history and had influence on many other bands.

Anyway, however Freddy Mercury is death.. the show must go on!
