i made a party a while back that consisted of Drizzt Do'Urden and friends...I just beat the game and am about to play HoF mode with them, standing on the boat at the begining of HoF, i have:

    Code:
    Drizzt Do'Urden
    Chaotic Good, Drow
    Fighter-6 Ranger-9
    *Longsword+4/Moonblade of Selune
    *Composite Longbow+4
(i was planning on holding out the game with only scimitars,
but compared to regular large swords, they're not too good)
    Code:
    Bruenor Battlehammer
    Chaotic Neutral, Shield Dwarf
    Fighter-17
    *Battleaxe+4/Balance
    *Big Death
(simple dwarven fighter tanker, dual weilding axes)
    Code:
    Wulfgar
    Chaotic Neutral, Human
    Barbarian-10 Battleguard of Tempus-7
    *Brutal Impact/Warhammer+4
    *Throwing Hammer of Thunder+2
(another tanker with some needed cleric in him...
i figured he'd be the best person
to put the cleric in because it
seems to fit well...using the strong hammers)
    Code:
    Regis Rumblebelly
    Chaotic Neutral, Littlefoot Halfling
    Rogue-17
    *Poisoned Blood Flail+2/Shield of Fortitude
    *Longbow+5
(i messed up with the flail, it should be a mace, but i messed up
and just went with it, also im not so sure if he
should have a bow, but i needed a ranged weapon for him...)
    Code:
    Cattie-Bree
    Lawfull Neutral, Human
    Wizard-17
    *Dhykast Longsword/Black Urchin(shield)
    *Heavy Crossbow+4
(im not exactly sure how i was going to work Cattie-Bree, she
is more of a fighter, but i really needed a pure arcane character,
    so i used her)
any comments, questions, thoughts, ideas, are welcome, tell me what you think, what i could have done better, or anything else...thanks

I think I read a thread a while back in which it was mentioned that Drizzt had a level as a barbarian.
It's a pity you had to drop the scimitars though... as they are his trademark.

You seem to have fun with this party and that's what counts. ;)

CN? Would have gone LN, but maybe you needed it for the axe?

Would have gave her the bow+5 and Regis the Xbow.

All in all a great transition from books to game.

And probably a fun party to play with.

What's the favoured class for male Drow? Is it Wizard or Fighter?

You could have put either Harkel Harpel or Robbilard as arcane spellcaster if you wanted to let cattie Bre go pure fighter. Alternativelly you could also have used Strumpet as cleric, but the Wulfgar cleric combo was interesting.

from memory: Drizzt is fighter 10, ranger 5, barbarian 1, +2 EL becose of drow, for a challenge rating of 18.

But why did you chose a wizard as arcane spellcaster? IMO sorcerers are much múch better!!!

Your guys finished at L17? Just makes the argument stronger for smaller partys I guess.
I started my game with one guy, a human, and added another two others along the way. He already is a Battlegaurd of Tempus[8]/Barbarian[9] at the wandering village.

Why did you not give Wulfgar more levels in Battlegaurd? That way he could have taken atleast the elemental feats for increased protection.
Too bad the scimtars in this game are horrid.

Cattie-Bree Should go ranger because of The HeartSeeker. It is not a bad party though. I stuck to all Fighters and one cleric myself

    Yeah. In BG II: SoA.

What the hell is Heartseeker doing in IWD II?
And why does someone need to be a Ranger to use it?
