I'm in the Cloakwood Mines now and I just picked up Yeslick as my cleric because Branwen(sp?) was always complaining my reputation was too high. But, then I realized she hadn't been too angry with me lately, so I checked and sure enough, my rep was back down to 10. :(

After reloading several save games I found out where I went wrong. In the battle at the bandit camp tent that ends Chap. 3, I cast fireball to weaken my attackers so I could take them out easier. However, I also killed an innocent out of my line of sight without knowing he was even there, thereby loosing me 10 rep. points without me even realizing it. :( Thus, my heroic party has been only "Average" all through chapter 4. Are there enough chances to raise my rep again to 20 in the rest of the game, or am I stuck to donating to temples to clear my rep?

[IMG] Don't worry buddy-boy there're still lotsa ways to get you popular and that's in the city alone! If you haven't whacked the sirine's yet go and check that area out, if kill the worgs by the lighthouse, the mom of some kid will give you a rep point. Also, in the ankheg area, when you tell brun about his kid i think you get another increase and then another if you give him 100gold. You can probly work your rep back up to 20, so don't sweat it. Besides, if there's one WRONG thing that this game teaches us, it's that redemption CAN be bought with Gold ;)

Cool. I've gotta hope for good word of mouth in the city, because I pretty much have been to just about everyplace I could (besides the TotSC areas) before hitting the bandit camp. Well, at least after my discovery, I now know why that robe of the good archmagi that I recently bought for Dynaheir in High Hedge cost so much. :)

From 10 to 12 (average rep) you have to pay the "normal" price without + or -. The robe is really not a bargain.

    *Edit*
Sorry, I remembered wrong. In BG1 it is 10 to 15 paying 100% and from 16 to 20 it is 10% reduction per point.
