[IMG] This is the question I have can a person create their own 'world' with tons of iteams in it, then join your wourld and keep their items?
Also is there a way to track a character after they login your world so they don't
go to a cheat 'world' than come back to your world?

[IMG] Thats up to the DM who's running the world. If they elect to only allow 'vault' player characters, these are screened to ensure they have appropriate xps/items/gold for the time they have been out adventuring. All the Alfa servers will use 'vault' PCs. Some DMs will have 'anything goes' servers.

The answer is yes and no. It all depends on what options you have chosen for your world.

When you create a module, you can set it to accept "vault characters" only.
The character vault is somthing BioWare will supply that keeps track of characters.

When you enter a module, your character is fetched from the official vault. Every time you log off from a module, you will put your character back into the vault. The vault will check how long you have been playing and compare that to how much experience and equipment you have gained. If you have too much of either, you will have the option of losing enough to "pass the test", and then you will be put back into the vault.

You can choose not to, but from then forth your character will not be classed as a vault character and can no longer enter modules that are set to accept vault characters only.

There will of course be modules out there that will allow use of any characters, and then you can use the method you described. But why stop there, you could even enter DM mode and just make the character lvl 20 outright, giving him every item he can carry, and you could still play on such a server.

ALFA intends to implement their own vault, making sure that only ALFA characters can access ALFA servers, regardless of whether they fit into the official vault or not.

Thanks for answers everybody, I was praying that something liek that was invented, But these vault characters still seem explotiable, and if they can be they will be. Just think about all person does is to have a vault character enter a world where everythig gives a million experience and all the equipment is a shack. they now have shown Vault cahracters are useless. I just pray that the cheating community never play the game.

Of course you can cheat with Vault characters. You give them enough xp for level 20 and don't check them back in the Vault for a week or so.

But even for that you can save yourself. In ALFA you create your character on the ALFA-server. So no playing anywhere else with your character. You can only play him/her on the ALFA-servers. Where I can guarantee you no DM will just hand out XP for nothing.

And heck, if you are a DM and you think a character is inappropriate, kick him out or let him die or take his XP or stuff away... easy enough.

If a DM doesn't want cheated character in his game, it won't happen. So choose your online game with care and there should be no problems.

As a DM, you can do anything.
You could put all his ability scores to 1, rob him of every item, take away all his experience points, and as a final insult - make him a gnome...

    Yes, DMs are all powerful.
