How does it work exactly? I compared the BAB of a lvl 30 fighter and a 20/10 wizard and the BAB of the multiclass was lower(obviously), but the numbers werent exactly listed at corresponding levels on the Table in the Manual.

Lets just say I have a very vague idea what I am talking about and would prefer if someone could please explain to me in detail how the progression of BAB works with Multiclassed characters, especially when the two (or three) classes have a very different BAB progression. (eg: Fighter and Wizard)

A certain level in a certain class gives you BAB increase. For total, you sum up all bonus from all classes. Fighters, barbarians, rangers and paladins get 100%, which means +1 BAB per level. Clerics, druids, rogues, bards and monks get 75%, rounded IIRC down. Wizards and sorcerers get 50%, also rounded IIRC down. Paladin10/wizard20 gets +20 BAB, 10 from paladin (100% from 10) and 10 from wizard (50% from 20).

That was illuminating...but how many attacks would the hypothetical pal/wiz ;) get?

Attacks come at the rate of +1 every five points of BAB, starting from 1. So it's like 6, 11, 16, 21 and so on. Each next attack is at 5 BAB less. Therefore, with BAB +1 you have one attack at +1, with BAB +6 it's +6/+1, with BAB +11 it's +11/+6/+1. Attack bonus other than base attack bonus does not give you additional attacks. Therefore, if you're a level 11 fighter with weapon focus in longswords (+1 attack bonus), STR 18 (+4 attack bonus) and a longsword +3, you get +19 attack bonus, but this doesn't give you a fourth attack, you have only three: +19/+14/+9.

    Paladin(10)/wizard(20) gets 4 attacks: +20/+15/+10/+5
