I'm currently playing a elf Multi-class Rogue/Magic User. I'm wondering if anyone else is playing multi-class characters, and what your exp level is. I am getting ready to finish(I think) Chapter 1 and I already have a 5/4 level character. This seems like a really high level to me, and I'm wondering if y'all have the same exp. at this point in the game. My character is doing quite well, and really hasn't died much. Picking up the big 1/2 orc barbarian as a henchman has helped tremendously. I am worried about the levels in chapters 2 and up....will my character be under-developed for the higher levels in the game with so many multi class levels?

I don't think you will have a big problem if you use your abilities well. You aren't going to be a combat monster with that combination, but Daeran Red Tiger is so that's not a real problem. You can make up for the somewhat reduced spellpower you have by using the plentiful scrolls and wands out there. Your rogue abilities with traps (disarming and setting) should serve you well.

rogue/wizard can be a powerful combination as you gain sneak attack on most spells when flanking or "sneak attacking". Moreover if you boost the rogue skills, with spells like invis, spider climb etc. you can get a long way methinks

I'm a straight sorcerer. Every time I level I think of multiclassing, but the spells are so cool I can't stop levelling in singleclass :).

And no, Frog. Once you leave the path of Monk (or Paladin) you may not go back again.

So you can multi to sorcerer, but never back to monk.

    Magnus,

that is definitely the 3e rule, but is it also the NWN one? I thought I read that they didn't implement it. Haven't checked in game, though, so maybe I'm misremembering?

The reason you can't go back to Monk may have to do with an allignment issue. In reading the manuel, it gives a few examples of when you can't multiclass. if multiclassing were to go against any allignment restrictions then it will not be allowed.
