Today, I went to see The Two Towers for the THIRD time and once again dug 9 euros out of my measly funds, and started to wonder... how much do you pay for your movie tickets? I usually pay from 7 (early afternoon/kids movies) to 9 euros (THX sound & late hour) per movie. H0w about you?
I live in Finland, by the way, and these prices are for the nationwide Finnkino cinema chain.

    So, how's it for you?

(The one going to see TTT for the fourth time next friday)

Movie tickets are generally $7.50US in my area - what's that, about 8 euros? Unfortunately, the real cost is far higher since we also have to spring $20 for a babysitter. The kind of movies Velcro and I want to see on a big screen are NOT suitable for a toddler! Then again, he did sit and actually watch all of HP:CoS...

In calendar years 2001 and 2002, the ONLY movies we've seen in theaters are the four HP and LotR films. But you should see our DVD collection! ;)

Here in England, the price is usually about £5.00... that would be about 7.5 Euros, I guess.

Anywhere decent in my part of Canada, meaning a theatre that can hold more than forty people, is about $10.00 Canadian.

    Movies here are really cheap.

High end movie theaters may cost about US$2.22. You are only entitled to 1 run and no food allowed.

Regular theaters costs about US$1.11 for orchestra, US$1.67 for balcony ... and you can watch it from 10/11 AM to 11/12 PM, thats about 5 or 6 runs a day, you can bring food. These are very decent movie houses.

Third class movie theaters (in the rural areas) usually cost about US$0.50 to US$1.00 and that's actually for 2 to 3 movies (doubles/triples). Probably half of these movie houses stinks (literally).

It is very seldom that prices are based on the movie itself, if it does, it's usually an increase of about US$0.50. And is only good for the high end and regular theaters. What's the difference with high end and regular theaters, usually better sound systems.

That's it! I'm moving to the philippines!!!

A few weeks ago I had to pay $14 to take my g/f to see Dare Devil on its opening night...the hour and a half wait was thrown in for free.

Clear accross town there is a "Dollar Flicks" theater, but it isn't really well kept, so I don't go there very often. :rolling:

We have a really great dollar movie theater nearby, so I try to go to that, if at all possible...
Other than that? About $7.50US per person, not including popcorn, drinks, having someone to see a movie with....

7-8 euros in Antwerp-Belgium where I always go to see a movie. Stupid small theaters in Tilburg aren't worth the 7 euros when there is a super Metropolis just 3/4 hours away.

Faragon, do you go to Breda for a movie? Cause Antwerp is even closer for you and it's one heck of a theater.

Tickets by themselves are about $7.50 USD. If you want the popcorn and soda, it's right about $14/person. That seems to be the case in most of America. Ticket prices are never dependant on the movie.

Man, that's unbelievable! When I want to see a movie, it costs me two bucks! That will change soon, though. :( Then I will have to pay four bucks, just because i'm considered an adult.

@Kitrax: $14! You could buy Yuri's Revenge right now for one buck more.
