Most embarrasing death in your party?

In the slaver quest, I thought I would be cute, so I dominated the Kobold Shaman and had him use his healing spells on my party. Ha ha, I thought. I am reeeeaaal smart.

I later found out that I needed to go back and take his little staff. Now, I like kobolds. Particularly the shaman. Reminds me of the monkey shaman in Lion King. But now they had to die.

So I ran back to the area and, though a miracle of pathfinding, Minsc arrived first, ahead of boots of speed Nalia. It was too late real fast. He was held and flame arrowed into greyness. Only thing left was the smell of burned fur. It was a bar-boo-que.

I reloaded.

Lets see my lamest death, hmm, ok yea heres one. I was fighting those flower thingys (spores i think) and well i only had 1 character with confusion protection my first time through. well anyway i went im, started attacking 1 and like 15 spore thingys ran at me (still no big deal against, i think it was my half-orc character.) well BAM one of the spore wizzard things casts hold, and well my main character died at the hand of like 5 remaining spores things.

 

Well, ever since Minsc lost Dynaheir, he's felt a little lost. So when the opportunity arose (so to speak) to adopt Aerie as his new witch, he was thrilled. Things were going well, and he protected her from devastating damage. A few times even sprinting from the thick of battle to dismember her attacker.

Now Minsc, being one of my two frontline fighters, is very heavily armed and warded. He dual wields, and has a melange of various protections, and a -2 or -1 AC. Usually works great.

Poor Minsc! Aerie was her usual careless self, took a couple swipes from an umber hulk, and Minsc came running. Unfortunately, on his way there, he happened to get a little confused. (I'm sure it doesn't take much!) So he looks up, and lo and behold, There's Aerie! She sees the look in her hero's eyes and turns to flee, while screaming for Jaheira to help. Jahiera tries to cast a spell, to no avail.

So what does this righteous ranger do? In one devastating blow from his mighty mace, he sends Aerie's pretty head flying into next week!

We were not happy.

 

Taking on the red dragon in ch 6 I was pretty confident and battled hard and won. I was pretty satisfied with only one death (Keldorn). Rolling down the dialoge window I suddenly realise that he died by the hands of the pit fiend I summoned. Doh!.

 

Off the top of my head, I think it would have to be the wee people...er, halflings in the planar sphere. They dispatched half of my party at least, including Minsc. Poor Minsc, he'll never be able to live that one down. It's the parties favorite thing to rib him about. "Hey, Minsc, how big was that halfling that chopped you down to size in the planar sphere anyway? Knee high you say, and against your mighty berzerker rage? Hah!"

 

After a tough battle when I ran out of potions and healing spells I had a main char with 20 HP left. I had a trap detected on a chest and wanted to get the stuff out of it before I rested.
I click on the "Disarm" button with my thief (my main char) and it glitches. Instead of disarming it I open it. Oops, finita la commedia (dead meat I mean)

 

My award certainly goes to Viconia for casting smite evil on some petty foes. It was too late for her to learn never to use that spell of hers.

 

I have to admit that my Ranger is far too curious for his own good. At an early stage he struggled through the underground temple with no light ~ When he saw the shadow Dragon he was pretty spell bound, it was the first Dragon he had ever met you see . . . so even though he had the shadow stone thingy, he couldn't help himself but speak to the damn Dragon! The dragon did have something suitably dry and witty to say before he turned me into toast before I could even so much as draw my bow.

 

I went to take a shower and paused the game. I had left a plate of pasta sauce after finishing my lunch.

Anyhow, I left my door open and during the time I was taking my shower to the time I got out, I returned to find my party dead.

My cat was in my room on my desk licking the pasta sauce and I guess he walked over the keyboard or jumped up on the table and landed on it. It's the only thing I could figure out as to how my character was dead.

I think my quickest party death was when I refused to do the quest the Red Wizard in the Docks gave me , can't remember his name.

You attack and kill the mage and then are circled by a couple of Shadow thieves , they cut my entire party down in about three seconds flat.

My assassin went to backstab a carrion crawler, missed, and the cc held him with its tentacles. After taking 90 points of damage off, one point at a time, the assassin escaped with two hit points. Running away very fast to avoid being 100% eaten, he walked into a group of hobgoblins.

 

My seventeenth level pally with full armor got knackered by a group of rather miffed gibberlings. We were not amused!

 

The first time through BGII for me was with an Undead Hunter, so I vertured off with a six-member party to the sewers in Temple District.

I met this band of tough fighters, mages, etc and almost got clobbered, but thanks to Jahiera's insect plauge I managed to survive, only one of the mages cast fear and got everyone except a heavily beaten Jahiera.

There goes my pladin, Minsc, Nalia, Yoshimo and Aerie down in all directions running into a few goblins, a few slimes, a few fire arrowed kobolds, a few kobold shamans and a Rakshasa. Doh! Minsc stood right in the middle of the room where the Rakshasa and kobolds were while my party ran around the whole sewers, running into an icetroll and more slimes. Jahiera healed herself and ran down to heal Minsc, but luckily the fear wore off and my five members came back under my control, with only Jahiera with healing spells/potions. At last i was getting somwhere, until the kobold shaman cast confusion or something on Jahiera ... there goes Jahiera, running around the sewers, running into a few more goblins and slimes.

Luckily my other five people ran to the centre to kill the kobolds and the rakshasa, so I wasn't in too much trouble, until the rakshasa cast web on my party while the kobolds fired arrows at me. Just as the thing was wearing off he cast a cloudkill spell or something at me, killing off all, but my main character. I eventually killed the rakshasa and his kobolds with my main character down to 3 hitpoints. I didn't save, and walked around the corner to find another kobold archer with fire arrows! Doh!

My whole party clobbered by a few kobolds, etc!

I played again, this time as a fighter, sending my six members down to the sewers. I made the evil party come to me, so that their fear spell wouldn't work.

I cast dozens of protection spells on, thinking that the next battle with the rakshasa and kobolds would be really hard; I killed the rakshasa with one hit by my fighter and the kobolds went down really easy. I felt so embarressed that my whole party got beaten by these the irst time round. Doh!
