[IMG] Is there a monk stronghold? I have Nalia's castle, but that's all.

I think my monk is a great character, but they seem sort of forgotten as a character class. have you found many weapons or items that say usable/not usable by monks? I keeps finding stuff that doens't say it's unusable by monks, but really isn't.

There should be some monastary they can rule or something...

Monks are fighters and like all fighters they do get the de´Arnise keep as their stronghold - so you already have what you deserve ;)

Those extra 3rd edition classes are the forgotten classes, but they were also probably implimented much later than the others. The designers probably didn't have time to go back and add a lot for them, so that's why they don't get their own individual stronghold quests. I'd also say just lumping them in as fighters isn't a fitting argument really because, at their base, they are. But then, so are Paladins and Rangers, and they get their own quest and stronghold (errr...cabin or room that is ;)). Call me crazy.

maybe the monks could have a Monastery quest??

i know there is a monk in the Temple of Oghma in the Docks District.. ever tried talking to him as a monk?

its some sort of library i think...

as a monk.. i think ur choice of equipment is quite limited... though.. i have found 2 Ioun stones... forgot where i got them from... but ur monk can use them I think..

one increases ur HP by 10 or 20 percent... dunno what the other does

I like my monk very much... He's one of the only characters who could still kick butt with NO gear.

He can use everything except armor, helmets and certain weapons...

I'll keep him around for NWN too...

I hate monks. What's the point with playing with someone so powerful? I mean to kill a dragon in one (!) hit is a bit over the border. They were trying not to make him too weak but ended up with a superhero.

edit> the only thing that's actually a challange is the first 12 levels.

Hey, Monk is cool and they are resonably powerful in comparison to kensai/mage. If you want some challange, try playing wizard slayer

Wait, how can u kill dragon with one blow, when dragon requires +4 weapon to hit, but your fists are at best considered +3 weapon?

They used the Monk's Quivering Palm attack which is a one shot kill move, a bit like a death spell but without as many limitations. A few people have used it to kill some big nasties with one hit. have a look here for a good example:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000880.html

or here for some details on the Monk that aren't in the manual:

P.S. I'm pretty sure Dragons don't need +4 weapons (unless they have an Improved Mantle type spell in effect). My party of non-magic users killed the Shadow dragon with +3 weapons (unless you count arrows and bows).
