    Hi all.

I'm looking for some good monk equipment. In specific I'm looking for something that will protect me agains charms, hold, stun, and fear spells.

    I'm only at level 13 in chapter 2 (I'm quasi-soloing).

    Don't forget that I can't wear a helmet

I dont think that monks really need much equipment, they tend increase in power as they go up levels (AC, magic resistance, damage using fists etc)
    However...
There is a ring of free action somewhere in the game I cant remember where though.
I would suggest using the chaotic commands priest spell but your soloing.

[IMG] As regards the fear, for an evil monk, you'll get the Nymph Skin Cloak at the end, so that'll work. The ring of free action is, of course, good. If you're soloing, make sure that you have a good regeneration item. Otherwise you'll either spend a lot of time resting, or have to carry around a buttload of healin potions. True, monks can't wear helmets, but they can wear Ioun Stones. There are some decent ones in SoA, but unfortunately, as you don't have ToB, you can't get the really good stuff. Consider getting the Item Upgrade mod if you don't already have it. There's a lot of good equipment you can get out of it.

[IMG] Monks are immune to charm at level 9.
    As for the others:
    "ring of free action"
    "cloak of bravery"
    "greenstone amulet"

MOnks become immune to slow and hast at level 5. I am not sure if this help against hold person or not.

No it doesn't help against hold person.

You've probably past this point, but you should keep Arbane's Short sword in your backpocket for its free action (protection against hold person). Since they let you switch weapons in combat, you could theoretically wield the short sword when you see paralyzation coming, and then unequip the sword in favour of your fists once the spell has fizzled on you.

The nice thing is that the sword comes early (your first two travels in Athkatla should trigger this event), so you can do this while your saves are still at a low level.

It's annoying, but hey, it gets the job done and saves you some reloading time. Until you get the ring...

in a later chapter you will find yourself in an underwater city. There you'll have to join one of two sides. I suggest to side with the creature who first wants you to help him. He will give your monk an extraordinary useful item (gloves).

Take Keldorns armour - monks can wear it if they have 17 wisdom and 15 strength.
Ion stones are good, you will need a fix for a monk to use it though.
Wands - Monks can for some reason use these

In the Windspear hills quest you will find a mask of burial in several different pieces; it will protect your Monk against critical hits.

I've got that mask! I was wondering what was going on when I saw "protected from critical hit".

Keldorn's armor... naah, that's clearly a bug and not meant to be in my opinion.
