I was looking over a halfling of mine this morning that had I created some time ago and was trying to figure for the life of me why he had +2 to climb, jump and move silently instead of +2 to listen like the PHB says. Well I go and take a peak in my MM and realize the problem, the MM says halflings get +2 to climb, jump and move silently. Who should I believe? Who's lying to me? Have I encountered another "typo" on a large scale or are the WotWC just come inconsistant... yet again?

Yet another example of the suckiness in the 3\3.5 ed rules. Snoop around in the rulebooks and you will find plenty more issues like this. But in answer to your question......Go with what the PHB says. The MM is for the GM mostly anyway.

My PHB (ver. 3.5 published July, 2003) says the halfling gets +2 to Climb, Jump, Move Silently and Listen checks.

My friend's MM (ver. 3.5 published July, 2003) says the same thing.

Actually, the only thing that differs in the MM is halflings get -4 to Grapple checks. Everything else is the same as what is put out in the PHB.

What book versions do you have?

my PHB, MM, and DMHB all say 3.5

There is no reference to skills called Innuendo, Intuit North or Wilderness Lore and they talk about why Wizards of the West Coast updated to 3.5.

My book is a 2003 so I have no idea what's going on.

The +2 Listen is under the +1 with thrown weapons and slings. Maybe you just missed it.
