The urge to adventure has struck me once more, so I've decided to take up my themed party, the 'Misunderstood personalities'(tm), once more; only this time I'll finish the game(s) - and that's a promise to myself!

    Player Character
    ************************
    Name: Yulp

    Gender: male

    Race: gnome
why: Because he looks funny with a spear  ; and to romance Aerie in BG2.

    Class: Kensai
Why: Mainly because he'd be pretty tough to play through BG1 with.

    Alignment: True neutral
why: because of the party combination of good, evil and neutral chars.

    stats:

    12 (13)

    D 15 (16)

    C 15(16)

    W 10(11)

    I 10(11)

    Ch 18(19)

1st roll when I hit the abilities screen. So, no re-rolls. placed all those points in Ch because that seemed to be the best place to put them, in order to avoid getting too much benefit from a high stat (besides cheaper prices in stores - mind that I can't have a 20 Rep).
NOTE: These are the stats I used on my first attempt at this party setup, and I've just duplicated them.

    Skills:

    ** Spears
    ** Two-Handed weap fight

Skill points will be focused on spears throughout BG1.

    ************************
    Rules
    ************************

    • No pre-battle buffs unless there's an RP reason to do so (Or, mainly in some BG2 cases, if I simply have to in order to win a battle)
    • No cheese if it can be prevented (obviously I'll have to resort to some cheese in the tactics fights, etc of BG2).
    • No stealing and selling to make a quick buck.
    • No accepting quests if it doesn't fir RP-wise.
    ************************
    What's this 'bout?
    ************************
If you have forgot, then here it is again:

Here I'll be updating how it fares, for anyone who'd be interested in seeing whether this weak party has any chance at all (especially in my heavily modded BGII).

    The Silvertar special edition
For the sake of anyone who'd read this, and don't want any Spoilers, I've posted the links to each of the SS's below, and provided a short description.

    Someone wishes me dead!
And armored figure and his goons attacked us! He slew Gorion as I fled the battle...

**If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one! **

    Thus far

This morning Gorion was acting very strange... instead of assigning me my daily chores he gave me some gold and instructed me to go see Winthrop to purchase some equipment; afterwards I were to meet Gorion in front of the library. We were to leave Candlekeep for some, to me, unknown reason.
*Sigh*, Gorion knows best, I guess.

In spite of the strangeness I decided that it couldn't be so important that I wouldn't have time to say farewell to those who mattered to me.

Though I did my best to avoid ol' absent-minded Phlydia, she spotted me(if only she could forget that she knew me too. Guess that's too much to ask for, though  ). She had, of course, gone and misplaced one of her books (yet again!), and I were to fetch it for her (yet again!!!).

I found the book in some hay and returned it to her. This time at least she rewarded me for my efforts (I assure you that THAT doesn't happen all that often).

Anyhow, a strange and horrid(/wonderful?) thing happened! As I entered the priest's quarter to say my farewells to the damn priest someone attacked me! He gave no reason as to why he'd do such a thing and I was forced to pin the critter on my new spear (now it has blood all over it  ).
I was a little shocked by the experience, but also found myself rather enjoying killing the bastard. I hope I get to kill again - the rush of the experience was unlike anything I've ever tried before! Like... like a drug!

After that I decided that the wise thing to do would be to go see Gorion ASAP; so I did.

We left Candlekeep quick enough. I was a little pissed at him, to be honest. He gave me no explanation..

At night-time we were attacked by an armored figure and his goons, as we were about to set up camp for the night.
Gorion quickly ordered me to flee, and I ran as fast as I could. as I was running I looked back over my shoulders just in time to see Gorion blasting the goons to pieces with his powerful magicks; now only the armored man remained, and I was filled with joy by the fact that my father was so powerful - I was full of believe in that he would deliver a quick death to the arrogant fool that dared attack him of all. Alas, as I looked back one last time Gorion fell by the stroke of a sword...

Quitly I mourned his death, but found myself to be less saddened than I thought I would (or should) be... strangely enough (or maybe not?) the strongest feeling I felt, was that of despair; not spawned from the death of my foster father, but the helplessness of being alone in the Wilderness.

Perhaps I should head to the Friendly Arm to see those good folks Gorion told me about?

And so it has begun! :D

Now what you should have done was create your spear-wielding kensai and specialise in something other than spears...clubs for example! After all, what could equal the coolness factor of a gnome who has spent their entire life training to wield a stick they picked up in the forest?

    Hehe...

I think this'll be hard enough as it is without adding more to the suckyness-factor :p .

A Gnome Kensai with GM in clubs only using spears :shake: .

Glad that you enjoy it! There'll probably come an update at some point later today. I only added the prologue part to give ya'll a little teaser of sorts :p .

Nah, Xan will do with his mooblade... besides his thac0 is so crappy that he won't hit many things with it anyway :p . Ok, the FR is neat but nevertheless: you don't part an Elf from his beloved moonblade :nono: .

The purpose of this run-through is fun through role-playing, and I doubt Xan would willingly give up his sword, ya know ;) .

The hardest part at the moment is surviving for long enough to gather a temporary party... but I will accomplish it through excessive use of power word: Re-load

Don't forget to put her in the BG2 party then! I take it Nalia is her replacement?

    Somehow, I pictured him...larger.

oh yeah, my bad ;) .

    :shake:

    I'm not perfect, ya know :p .

NOTE: Yes, I know this one is very long, but I just can't stop playing after that long a time, so I have to keep adding on top of what is already written in this post :shake:

Yet another enemy has fallen to the might of the Gnome!

**If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one! **

    Thus far

As I stood there planning my next move I was surprised by none other than good ol' Imoen! Apparently she had followed Gorion and me as we left Candlekeep and seen the whole thing... Despite the fact that her cheerful mood sometimes get on my nerves I was filled with joy over seeing a familiar face in this very un-familiar situation.
Suffice to say that I was happy to take her with me... for now.

We agreed that the wisest thing to do would be to go to the Friendly Arm and see these friends of Gorion; on the way, however, we was adressed by a chubby man who told us that a couple of nasty-looking fellows were standing on the road a little further ahead. Dire situations calls for dire measures, so I did not heed the mans warning about adressing folks who looked like them, and instead went to see this odd couple. At the moment I'll embrace whatever help I can get so I agreed to go to Nashkel with the two after a brief visit to the Friendly Arm!

A strange old man adressed me today, asking me about my mental state of all things. I told him to hid the road, which he did (fortunately enough I guess - for him that is  ).

Roaming the forest, trying to make our way, we stumbled upon an Ogre! Yikes! Quickly I drank my potion of speed, and had Monty do the same; charging blindly at the Ogre afterwards. Immy aimed her wand of magic Missile at it and fired and at the same time Xzar got of one of his spells (lar-something's drain). I focused best I could, and managed to access my 'kai' and dove in to aid Monty. It was a tough battle, no doubt about that, but in the end we managed without taking to many casualties (though just barely).
Monty could barely stand after that, so we set up camp for the night. The Arm would have to wait a little longer.

Last night I had a dream. Or maybe a vision; I'm not sure, really.

The image of Gorion appeared and spoke to me. He told me about myself, that I was born of murder, that I would eventually loose myself and become of murder.
I don't know what he meant by that, but I know he somehow spoke the truth. I can feel it in my very soul! Each time we kill I find myself to enjoy it more and more.

The Friendly Arm Inn! Finally we had reached our first destination. The joy of seeing the old castle in which the inn has been build was quickly replaced by wonder, though. For as we climbed the stairs to the main entrance, a black-robed man adressed me, asking whether I came from Candlekeep and by chance would bear the name 'Yulp'. After the last days experiences I was reluctant to tell my name to anyone, and asked the man to get lost. He wouldn't listen though, and apparently someone had given him a good description of my looks. My worries were correct, and the man suddenly turned on us, proving to be a Mage of no meager power. However Monty had hid during his speech and tore him down with a well-place stitch before he could even get a single spell off! Lucky for us, I guess, that Monty suspects everyone.

At the inn I met this Jaheira chick. I thought her a bossy and self-centered bitch, and decided that we would be better off without them.*

At the 2nd floor we met a guy who thought I was one of the servants. He threw me a pair of Golden Pantaloons and some coins, ordering that I'd have them cleaned by the evening. I didn't think much of it, though, and just kept the Pantaloons.

Besides the nobleman there was a Dwarf who promised us 120 gold if we cleared his house in Beregost which had been infested with spiders. I agreed to help him with this, and he gave me some potions of Antidote in case we got poisoned.

Having done what we needed to, we headed for Beregost.

We reached Beregost by night-time, and Imoen told me that the Feldpost Inn would be a suiting place to spent the night so we headed there. However as we entered we was confronted by an angered peasant. Before I could do anything Monty had pissed the man off and he attacked us with his friend. We were forced to slay the two, though they'd brought it on themselves (well, Monty didn't help either "Bad Monty :nono: " :p ). After that little issue had been dealt with, we weren't really all that popular with the town folks and decided the best thing to do would be to hire some rooms and withdraw for the night.
The next morning we heard that someone had stolen a cloak from one of our neighbors, but didn't think much of it as we had everything still.

At the city-square a hooded man approached us. He said his name was Garrick and that his mistress was interested in hirering us as mercenaries. She needed protection from a group of thugs send after her by Feldpost because she didn't want to play at his inn.
In the end, however, we discovered that it was actually she who bullied them, and not the other way around; so we killed Silke instead (or actually she killed herself with a badly aimed lightning bolt :shake: ). After that Garrick hung around for some reason. Imoen would not hear of letting him go (Think she fancy him).

Badly wounded as we were, we had to find some shelter for the night and lick our wounds, so we entered the Red Sheaf, which Silke had stood by.. We were immediately attacked by a dwarven assassin! I knew I was in over my head this time, weakened as we were...

Monty quickly drank a potion of defense followed by a potion of invulnerability. It worked like a charm, 'cus the dwarf could not get through monty's defenses. out of the critters reach I attacked him with my long spear. Garrick began singing a battle song which strangely enough encouraged us. Imoen used up the remaining charges on the wand of Magic Missiles and Xzar, who had run out of spells, resorted to a scroll.
As we got the critter near death he tried to flee, but as he did I hit him with a perfect plunge from my spear, and pinned him to the floor.

*Yawn* Sometimes I wonder why the hell I keep the "great" Garrick around. Last night the fool decided that midnight was the perfect time to practice on his flute. Something about Mars being in the right position  . I swear one day he'll wake up dead if he continues like that; monty agrees with me (for once).

Anyhow, I stumbled upon this Mirriane lady as I was ransacking.. er I mean checking out (yeah, checking out) her lovely little home. Her husband was away on a business trip, but ought to have returned by now. I promised to keep an eye out for him on my travels.

In the southern part of the very friendly Beregost (I mean I've only been attacked like three times) I found the home of Landrin - the Gnome from FAI who had his home infested with spiders. Inside I found three regular ones and one huge spider. I made short progress on them (though I had go gulp three potions of Antidote) and looted the largest one's body... The other possessions were all stored in a small chest. Bet she'll be glad to see me again.

After that it was time to leave for Nashkel to talk to Berun Ghastkil (Xzar-boy was really bitchy today, and kept complaining about how we should have gone there ages ago *sigh*). He didn't seem to like me all that much (what's wrong in loving money?), but was willing to accept my aid nevertheless (like he had a choice... I mean we own!). While I was there I thought I might as well check out the latest rumors. it seems that the Captain of the guard, a man named Brage, had gone and lost his mind. There's a bounty on his head, though the local cleric suggested that I take him (with his head still attached to the body, mind you) to the temple of helm instead - that is if I could "persuade" him to come, of course. Another rumor was that of a local artist called Prism having stolen two emeralds. I stumbled upon a man named Oublek, actually, who thought I was some Greywolf dude sent after this Prism fellow; Oublek thought that I was Greywolf returning successfully from the mission and wanted to reward me with 200 gold. I told him the truth (which pissed of monty!) and he was very happy with me - I can nae take money for something I haven't done no matter how much I love gold.

Garrick really wanted to go see the local carnival, but I told him he'd have to wait till tomorrow, and headed for the inn. Well, Nashkel proved to be no friendlier than Beregost! As soon as we entered yet another assasin attacked us. I quickly used the new cloak Immy had "purchased" for me to charm the little lady... Had her waste all her spells and drop her weapons before I knocked her down :D . Bet she didn't see *that* coming.

Anyways, the next morning we headed for the carnival (the oracle Felinoid came to me in my dreams and told me to buy a scroll of stone to flesh before I went, by the way). As we were walking toward the tents some guy in a strange pink-like robe came up to us, rambling about the youth not being polite and respecting its elders... well I felt a wee sorry for the man (can't be straight in the head wearing that robe! He'd be the laughing stock of Nashkel) so I was polite. In return he told me that he was a books-salesman, but that he now only had few books left, amongst which there was a certain Ultimate Compendium Of Famous Little-Known Heroes that the brave (Sir) Garrick was very interested in. Especially a passage about the famous bard, Myr'cutio, who supposedly roams the ruins of Ulcaster. To shut Garrick up, I agreed that we could go there - at some point.

As the party boasted into a tent at the Carnival we were approached by a stranger who called himself the "great" Zordal. I found him rude, so we killed him (oh, and he was threatening to kill a woman with his magic words because, as he claimed, she was a witch.. What an ignorant fool! He just did say himself that HE would kill her using HIS magic word  ). Anyway the lady, who really was a witch, rewarded us with a potion.

Something horrible happened today! Imoen is no longer amongst the living, nor will she ever returned as her body is torn beyond resurrection... Back when we killed the mage Tarnesh at the Arm, Imoen looted his spellbook. She's always been interested in magicks. I warned her not to play around with it; to be careful, but she said she knew what she did. Well, she didn't. Today, as she was playing around with the spells she managed to blow herself up in some way. I don't know what she did, but one moment she was there, the next she was gone  . R.I.P. Imoen!

As we was scouting the area around the mine we stumbled upon no other than Prism - the artist thief! At first the plan was simply to force him into giving me the gems, one way or another. But between Garrick's pathetic sobbing ("he's an artis *sob*") and Prism rant about beauty, etc. (oh, and the fact that he promised me everything he owned) I was persuaded into protecting him from Greywolf instead. Boy did I wish I hadn't! This guy brought the meaning of 'tough' to a whole new level! lucky for me I had gotten Branwen, which I then swapped with Monty so that she know was my main tank. Armed with an Ankheg Plate (which I had found in a field in Nashkel  ), her magic hammer and an armor of faith she soaked damage like a proper tank! immediately after Greywolf had turned on us she attacked to draw his attention. I focused my energy and accessed my Kai ability and charged in soon after. Garrick began singing his battlesong, and Monty, who had hid in the shadows prior to battle got a perfect hit in on him, doing massive damage. This, however, was far from enough. Xzar used his entire arsenal of Magic Missiles (four), and Monty drank a potion of invisibility to backstab once more (though the bugger missed the second hit... Sheesh). By now, Branwen was getting torn to pieces and finally fell to the mighty warrior. However Greywolf had also been gravely injured and we managed to gather our last strengths as everyone went melee on him. One final critical blow from good ol' Mr. Spear finished the bugger off, and to my joy I could loot a very neat sword from him.
After that Prism thanked us, and shortly thereafter died from exhaustion.

After visiting the local cleric we finally headed to the mine... Helm knows what awaits us down there.

*I actually took them along till Beregost, but after slaying Silke without taking a single hit, I decided that they made the party too powerful, re-loaded from entering the city, ditched them and went in again ;) .

*Sigh*, I've lost count on the number of times Garrick has died now!
    A fate worse than death
And again Garrick licks the dust
Mulahey had no chance against the power of my pimp juice!
    Attacked by Amazons! Medic!
Nimbul! I am death come for thee
    Pfeh! Great mage my ass!
Whoa now! I only asked you to tell my fortune.. Chill! :whoa:
    Yikes!
    double Yikes!

**If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one! **

    Thus far

As we headed for the mine entrance we spotted a small house next to the excavation site, and I thought let's check it out (wish I hadn't, though). Inside we found three "dangerous" war dogs - well, for us they were, m'kay (Garrick managed to get himself killed again, of course :rolling: ). Garricks armor got torn and we had to leave it where it was. As a result we had to visit Beregost and purchase a new one. This boy is trouble if anything.

On our way back towards the mines Montaron mentioned a shortcut through the wilderness, and I agreed to check it out. Well a shortcut it wasn't! Far from, actually. However we did encounter a very interesting person! No other than the former Commander of the Nashkel guard, Brage. The man, however, was a shell of who he once was; he had completely lost his mind and just stood there in a ravaged caravan covered in the blood of the innocents he'd just slain.
We managed to persuade him into coming with us back to Nashkel somehow, however. But not to the guards! No, death would be too easy a sentence for him. No we took him to the temple of helm; not so that he could atone for his deeds, but so that he could live on knowing what he'd done to his friends and family!

Finally we were ready to go to the mine itself. The posterior proved to be more than happy to allow us to look into the troubles in the mine. Though the miners talked of demons (yipping ones to boot! those fools) they actually turned out to be nought but mere Kobolds (of course). However they did managed to strike down Garrick with a couple of arrows (I swear if I weren't around he'd be permanently dead a looong time ago). Other than that we had no difficulties slaying the weak Kobolds and the odd spider, really.

As we went deeper down into the mines we finally found ourselves facing the "leader", an ugly Half-Orc priest by the name Mulahey. After the mandatory badass-monologue (You know, the "I tell you all my plans 'cus it won't matter as I'll kill you in a heart-beat anyways" monologue  ) he attacked, summoning a haul of Kobolds and Skeletons. We retreated to a site-cave wherein we also found an Elven wizard called Xan (he proved to be a melancholic and tiresome man - he'll fit right in, I reckon) before the Kobolds could spot us. As a result we had Mulahey one-on-one (well, four-on-one, really). He quickly threw a couple of spells on Branwen rendering her useless, but I hit him proper and before the fight had barely begun, it was over. We looted his corpse and chest, and found some very interesting papers, mentioning a certain Tranzig residing in the Feldpost Inn. We have better go see this guy. Besides we also found Xan's moonblade (he now travels with us), which he was happy (at least I think he was happy) to get back. He also mentioned that he'd heard Mulahey talk about a back entrance, which we headed for; but not before ditching Xzar and Monty! I could not stand having to spend a single moment more in their tiresome company.

We found the back entrance not far from Mulahey's cave, guarded by a couple of oozes which we made short progress of. As we left the darkness, the cave collapsed behind us almost trapping Branwen within!

Soon after escaping we were confronted by a gang of amazon chicks... by that point I wouldn't take crap from no one, so as the leader threatened us we simply just charged at her (we were outnumbered three to four!) - well, this wasn't really the smartest move, I agree; however I doubt that they could be reasoned with thinking of the other assassination attempts made on us and all (they, at least, couldn't be reasoned with). I quickly charmed one using my cloak and had her charge at her friends to draw focus off of us. Xan immediately followed with a sleep which got one of them. As the charmed one was fighting her comrade, the three of us attacked the remaining chick and dealt with her swiftly enough. after that we aided the charmed one in the slaughtering of her comrade (though she got held through some magic means). Lastly we had only the sleeping amazon remaining (and of course the one in our control). We killed her quickly and the focus on the last of the lot. As soon as we hit her she shook the charm spell off and started attacking Xan who fell. In the end, however, Branwen and I managed to slay her.

After that we went to talk to the Mayor of Nashkel, who was overly joyous at seeing us again. He rewarded us with 900 gold pices for our efforts (truth be told the old tart could have coughed up with a little more, methinks!). Anyways as we headed along the main road, intending to go to Beregost we were, once again, attacked by an assassin. A bragging assassin to boot, wearing the silliest name I've heard in a long time: Nimbul, pfeh! He proved to be a challenge, however. and once more Garrick and Xan were forced to bite the ground, and only Branwen and I remained (and we were injured :help: . After minutes of pointless swinging at his mirror images, ,gulping down potions of healing and Branwen throwing the odd healing spell the bugger finally went down (*sigh*).

Back in Beregost we stumbled upon the mental red-robed man again, and he proved to be none other than Elminster himself! He advised me to search in the north-eastern parts of the region, in my hunt for the bandits.

a child named Chloe adressed me, saying someone in the Jovial Juggler was looking for me (5 gp's on that it's another assassin). It proved to be an officer of the flaming fist (take your bloody 5 gp's, Branwen  ). She would pay us 50g's for any bandit scalp we'd deliver (kinda disgusting, actually. Money is money, though).

Anyhow, we faced the Tranzing fellow, and it turned out that besides working for an evil organization he was indeed also the one who'd trapped Branwen in stone (you've been a naughty little busy bee, mister :nono: ). Well, he of course wouldn't let slip any information, and attacked us almost at the mere sight of Branwen (or the cow, as he so blatantly referred to her as). I quickly drank a potion of Stone Giant Strenght and had Garrick drink a potion of stoneform. We then charged in. Before we knew of it he'd fired of a Ghost Armor, but luckily enough I got a critical hit in on him at the same time and he fell to the mighty spear! Looting his corpse I found a map with spoke of bandit raids in Peldvale and Larswood.

The great sea was calling for me, and as the Bartender told us about this Basillus dude (some local wacko-cleric who'd gone mad and apparently killed people only to raise them as undead, which he talked to  ) we (that would be *I*) decided that we'd might as well move westwards in the search of this fellow.

Near a Lighthouse we found some Safana chick who spoke of a pirates cove near-by (Pirates of the Sword Coast.. Arrr! - now where's that pirate smiley when you need it :whoa: ). We agreed to help her locate this treasure.

A wee south of where we found Safana we stumbled upon a fortune-teller named arkulushule, or summit like that (come on! With all them weird names how in the nine hells am I supposed to keep track of who's the who now? :bad: ). Well, she proved to be the weirdo I thought her to be (truth be told, almost EVERYONE around me are weirdoes); after agreeing to tell my fortune she suddenly refused to proceed. Now I had already paid her, so I wanted my freaking fortune told, damn it! So, we had to kill her, which we did. Though She got Xan (that dog - the fortune-teller, not Xan that is).

On our way towards the cave we were assaulted by three Sirines. Yikes! :help: . I immediately charmed one using my cloak and ordered everyone to charge. They went invisible (as Sirines tend to) and tried to catch us unaware with a Dire charm. As soon as they re-appeared I had the charmed Sirine charge at one while the party focused on the other; and just in time to interrupt their charm spells! Sweet :D . However from hereon everything went completely utter wrong! The charmed Sirine somehow managed to pull five hobgoblins so we now had two Sirines and five hobgoblin archers at our tails! :jawdrop: . They quickly pierced through Garricks weak defenses, and he fell (yet AGAIN).
We finally got our Sirine, and just in time as the charmed Sirine was near death and running in panic. I had Branwen draw the attention of the archers while Safana and I focused on the remaining Sirine (which our little charmed pet hadn't been able to finish off). We just barely managed to finish her and the hobgoblins off and Safana was badly wounded after that encounter. Finally we went to destroy the the Sirine which we had taken control of.

We rested and continued (no need to resurrect Garrick and Xan for now, they'd just die again :shame: ).

A wee further north of there we was again attacked by a group of Sirines (*sigh*). Safane had hid pre-battle and quickly positioned herself behind a Sirine. Again I had to use my cloak to charm one who could take care of Sil (their "leader"), while we focused on the other one. Fortunately enough we resisted all her attempts to charm/confuse us, and she went down quickly. We now all aided the Sirine in killing Sil.
Everything had gone smooth, and it was almost too good to be true considering the buffoons I travel with; and indeed it was! As Sil went down we focused on the remaining Sirine who quickly got a confuse spell off on Safana. Shortly thereafter she charmed me, and now only Branwen remained to kill her (while taking heavy blows from me), she just managed to strike the final blow as I slew her. Now only Safana and I remained to take care of the monsters within the pirate lair.

Fortunately for us Safana is a sneaky little lady, and she managed to sneak in, grab the treasure, quickly run and re-hide before the Flesh Golems within could kill her. Hurray! Finally something went as planned...

After that we traveled to the Beregost temple, got our friends resurrected and shared the loot.

Thanks :D . It's actually going way smoother than my first attempt, but guess that's due to the fact that I've done this before.

I often have to resort to some tactics I wouldn't use otherwise, which is a challenge in itself :) .

I try to keep the use of Algernon's cloak on a minimum, though.. As I see that as BG1's cloak of cheese ;) (sometimes I have to, though, as I often find myself getting torn to pieces by the enemies, and re-loading over and over again).

Hehe, it is an amusing read ;)

Going (relatively) well so far then despite Sir Garrick's attempts to sabotage the group by forcing you to spend all your money on raising him! I suspect Sarevok's been slipping him the odd coin...

    Hehe :shake:

I would've been loaded with gold if it wasn't for all those resurrection spells I have to purchase, yes :p .

I'm looking forward to cloakwood, though.. That was a challenge during my last attempt (this time I may just get those two battle horrors summoned too ;) ).

Haha, that I do :rolling: .

Btw, I just made a new rule: pre-battle buffs are illegal unless I know that there will probably be battle (i.e. Tazok's Tent: Guard in front tells us it is his tent and I am to guard it, therefore I buff 'cus I expect something to be in there). Long lasting buffs as armor and strength are, of course, legal as long as they're not cast right before the battle with the purpose of buffing for that specific battle.

I've decided this for obvious role-play reasons (that it add to difficulty as just a bonus).

Dungeon buffs are legal, though (as in I buff up prior to entering a dungeon or the likes).

Really cool, I now have a brief idea about BG1, that battles are really hard, Garrick sucks big time, and scenery is nice.

But to tell you the truth I really look forward to BG2 and ToB, as I know the improved battles there and will gladly hear your strategies and tactics with that party!

    Please keep it going pal!

Note that I prolly won't update much during weekdays seeing as I've got work and a social life to think about :p .

That said, here's the next update:

    ****************************
    The Silverstar special edition
For the sake of anyone who'd read this, and don't want any Spoilers, I've posted the links to each of the SS's below, and provided a short description.

Evil meet Spear; Spear meet evil!
    Antichickenator :shake:
    Bite the dust, Myr'Cutio!
    woa now! Relax nature-boy!
Do we pwn or what? :p

**If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one! **

    Thus far

Someone has stolen my cloak! My wonderful cloak gone... I suspect Safana (she seem like the type, doesn't she?).

Well, after that little incident we continued our search for Bassilus; in the wilderness we met a boy named Footy who told us he'd seen him near by.
The boy was clearly going crazy.

As we spotted Bassilus, my first instinct was to charge in as we always do, but Safana suggested we use caution instead (bah!). Slowly we proceeded and Safana stepped up to face the cleric. Bassilus was talking to an Zombie (which were only capable of responding with a dull "duuhhh" ), but as he spotted us he turned his attention toward Safana first, then me; for some reason he thought me to be his father (a 3.4 foot - or 105cm - tall Gnome :bang: )*.. We played on it and got him so mad that he lost control of his undead minions who all collapsed dead anew. Suffice to say he charged at us.

Xan quickly used his wand of paralyzation to disable madman Bassilus. It worked perfectly - Xan had gotten him just as he was about to get a hold off!
While Bassilus was paralyzed we finished off whichever Undead remaining and then easily took the critter down.

As we traveled northwards in the search of bandits we stumbled upon a, as Garrick puts it, 'fowl' talking Chicken (*cough* morron *cough*).
It, of course, proved to be a polymorhed person. It told us he'd been a Mage named Thalantyr's apprentice, and that his former master lived but a stone's throw to the north.
At first Thalantyr refused to help us out, but softened after a while and agreed to help. In order to help Melicamp (which was the chickens name, by-the-by) back to his former self he had to do a, sort of, reversed reincarnation spell (something about melicamp using some magical barcers thus turning himself into a much older chicken than he should otherwise be able to) to bring him back into his human form.. In order to do this, Thalantyr needed a dead component; fortunately enough I had a human skull on me (Oi, what's wrong in keeping trophy's!?!)
Unfortunately Thalantyr's 'Antichickenator' spell didn't work quite as planned.

Our next stop was the Temple of Lathandar in Beregost to claim our (*cough* my!) reward for slaying Bassilus... we got a wooping 5,000 gold pieces!

Anyway, as usual Garrick was whining, the only difference was that this time I listened to him ( :jawdrop: ). We went to the ruins of Ulcaster to find this Myr'Cutio mentioned in the Ultimate Compendium of little-known heroes. On our way, however, we was attacked by Hobgoblins. They went down easy enough, and one of them was so friendly as to "give" us his boots of stealth (yay).

In the nort-western part of the area we stumbled upon thos Myr'Cutio guy.. He proved to be no match for us!.

After that was done with I decided it was time to check out these bandit dudes; so we went bandit-hunting in Larswood. We didn't find bandits, though, but instead a couple of Druids.
One of them, a man named Osmadi, seemed to have lost his mind, and attacked us almost on sight, claiming that we'd killed his 'brothers'. As soon as he attacked us with his Bear pet, the other druid, Corsone, joined the fight and helped us slay Osmadi. It seemed weird that Corsone would help us slay his own kin, so we killed him too, just to be sure ya know (better safe than sorry, my mom alwa... *erhm* Gorion always said). Garrick died again, however (as always  ), and he almost got Branwen too..

We now had to go to the Arm first to get Garrick resurrected (dunno why I bother, to be honest), and at the same time went to speak with Landrin to tell that we killed those pesky spiders.

After that I decided Peldvale would be the best place to go (considering the Druid attack in Larswood and all). However soon after we arrived we stumbled upon no less than a small army of bandits!
The cunning Safana was quick, though, and convinced the bandits that we really wanted to join them; so they took us to their secret camp where the chief, Tazok, agreed to take us in after a little persuation (kudos to Safana again - beginning to hate her! She's taking the focus off of me, damn it! ).

Our first assignment was to guard Tazok's tent, which was lucky, really, seeing as Tazok tents was the one thing we wanted to 'check out' first.

We waited till nighttime, when people were beginning to hit the sacks before we stroke. cloaked in the shadows we prepared ourselves and entered under penalty of death (am I brave or what?)!
Inside we found four guys whose name escapes me (I'm the only one important in this story anyway) who, of course, threatened to kill us for entering. We told him to shut the hell up and that he might as well lay down to die now and save himself the agony... Do I have to tell you that he didn't think much of my suggestion? Guessed so.
As they attacked us Xan quickly threw a Horror spell which disabled 3 of them. Only one of them, a Gnoll warrior of sorts, remained, and we ripped it apart quick enough. Thereafter we charged the archer who was beginning to randomly shoot at everyone out of panic; Xan and I got poisoned from one of his arrows, and soon after the fear wore off. Xan tried to disable them once more with a sleep spell, but poisoned as he was he couldn't get his magicks to work. The mage was beginning to nuke us so as soon as Hakt fell we quickly charged at him. He went down easy enough, and so did the last one, Ramon. Garrick died again (Why do I even bother? :flaming: ).

Within the Tent we found a prisoner named Ender Sai who, believing that we worked for Tazok, revealed that Tazok really didn't work for the Zhents at all! No he was working for an organisation called the 'Iron Throne' who's goal was to monopolize the Iron trade along the Sword Coast... However more importantly he revealed that Tazok went to the forbidden Cloakwood forest to get his orders...

    The forest awaits!
