I can hardly believe this story. Five weeks ago, two young women who look similar were involved in a traffic accident, in which one died, and one survived. It turns out that they were misidentified. Therefore, the family that thought their daughter had died is actually the one that survived, and vice versa. The survivor had serious injuries, including her head, and was in a coma for five weeks. It wasn't until she started coming out of her coma and talking with her "parents" that her true identity became clear.

I don't know how either family can cope with this. It's horrible to think your child survived, only to find out that she died, but also somewhat unsettling for the family of the girl who had survived, because they thought they had buried their daughter five weeks ago.

    It's a very strang tale.

They obviously didn't do a thorough job examining her... she was in a coma for five weeks, couldn't they have done some dental checks, or bloodchecks or anything?

I feel extremely bad for the family that thought their daughter survived...

That story was front page news in New Zealand today.

Shows how much interesting news there was in New Zealand today.

They didn't do dental checks (until after she came out of her coma) because they had friends and family had misidentified them at the accident scene. This shocks me. For how similar they look, I still find it hard to believe that firends and family were unable to correctly identify them. The injuries to the head and face must have been severe if they were that hard to tell apart. Of course, it didn't help that they were the exact same height and had nearly identical builds.

    DEMENTED CONSPIRACY TIME!

The family of the one who allegedly died were actually government employees, and their "daughter" was actually a clone of the other girl. A crash was orchestrated, and the real one died, while the clone merely went into a coma. On awakening, she claimed to be the daughter of the parents of the real one, and the gov't guys claimed that their daughter died.

    I haven't thought of a reason yet.

Probably because the clone is a programmed assassin, who will kill a world leader.

Yeah, nice job guys. That wasn't disrespectful to the dead girl and both families at all. Have some decency, please.
