So then what is this mission i must undertake to prove how brilliant i am (which is not very much)

I am going to go Solo for the first time.

    But here is the catch:
I want to play as the weakest class!!!!!!!
And just to make it worse.
I am only allowed 80 stat points!!!!!!!

    Oh yes the ultimate challenge
So what class should i be and where shall the points go!?

And by the way this is nothing to do with ironbeards topic. I want the weakest!

    Wizard slayer

You will be soooooo killed since you cant use potions of healing and such.

Or try a druid. Since you level off at 14 you'll have bad saves.

Nah, that doesnt make it much harder. If he had a death wish he could be a human wizard slayer with min stats.

So wouldn't his stats be something like
    str 9
    dex 3
    con 3
    wis 3
    int 3
    cha 3

?? or was the min higher for some stats?

[IMG] yup, i definitely say wizard slayer. weakest thing in the game, oh if only irenicus was a wizard slayer instead...but that would screw up the game alot...nevermind.

The wizard slayer is NOT the weakest thing in the game. Sure its abilities suck, it can't use many items but nothing is weak if used right in bg2. The only reason I recommended it was because without a cleric he would have to rely on potions to heal himself which the wizard slayer can't use.

Lets look at the advantages of a wizard slayer
    1-its a fighter
    2-magic resistance, always useful
3-the supposedly useless miscast effect, what happens if your fighting irenicus or a lich? After whittling down their defenses you can get one whack before they set up a crapload of other defenses.

Granted the wizardslayer is hard to play, but nothing is absolutly useless.

[IMG] i see your point. i have never played a fighter and i never will. i believe things are just a bit basic with a fighter. give him a sword, he chops things up.

i dont mind having them in my party and i say the more the merrier but a fighter doesnt fit me, and thats what roleplaying is about. i take yoga and im a little more intelligent than youre average potatoe(literal potatoe, the brown thing with eyes) so i tend to play mages and thieves.

im not trying to insult fighters, its just a matter of opinion and thats what forums are for.

Jesters do not suck. They can slow and knockout people in the higher levels. Plus they have no disadvantages. Who really uses normal bard song for long anyway?

As i said before i will be having a total of 80 stat points which is actually surprisingly few.
Although this is called mission imposible i still want to be able to escape the first dungeon.
    Think about it.
If i was a wizard slayer then i would not be able to pick traps and would have to storm through. How am i going to survive if i canot use regeneration items or potions of healing.
The only thing i can do is either rest constantly which will mean it wil take a year or so to leave the dungeon or wait for a temple! I DO want a chalenge but i also want some sense of hope to start out with.

How about a druid or skald?

Skalds are good, they're like warriors with a high lore, plus they can cast spells. Only drawback is that they can only be proficient in anything.

Yes, go with wizard slayer if you want a challenge going solo. If I remember correctly you can gain hp if you use Sarevoks old sword (don't remember the name). When you get out of the dungeon don't forget to buy all restoration spells you can find. You will need them.

It is possible to solo with a wizard slayer, but it's probably the hardest way to go.

Wizard slayers can't use the restoration spells or healing potions or any potions for that matter. He'd be screwed.

No you see i want to go solo with a character that will not just bring difficulty but at least minor enjoyment.
The Wizard Slayer is so crap that although it would the most difficult to start with it just would not be fun at all.
So i tell you what guys lets have a look at the second most difficult class!!

(now that you're a wolf, should we call you Avooch the Pooch?)

You opened yourself up on this topic! But here's my opinion.

To play a weak, but do-able player, try a Skald or a Ranger KIT Beastmaster. The Skald could actually be fun. THe Beastmaster will have some abilities, but the weapon draw-backs will keep you from being too much of a threat (none of the cool weapons are made of wood!)

One other thought - what about a fighter/mage/theif with terrible stats? You'd go up very slowly, be only semi-good at a lot of things (until later), and have to use lots of strategy to put your few skills into play for tough combats.

[IMG] A Wizard Slayer gets my vote too!

    Try this distribution:
    Str: 18
    Dex: 18
    Con: 18
    Int: 6
Wis: 8 (How wise is it not to use magic stuff?) ;)
    Cha: 12

Or this slightly less challenging distribution:
    Str: 18
    Dex: 18
    Con: 18
Int: 12 (Helps against Mind Flayers)
    Wis: 8
Cha: 6 (No need for high Charisma)

Healing potions are not vital. Is it really that bad to press "Z" when you're hurt? You will rack up a lot of days, but that doesn't matter in BG2. Wizard Slayer is tough but not impossible and the kit benefits can be put to good use in some cases. Traps aren't much of a problem either. Take the damage and press "Z". :)

(Note that a Jester is better at soling than a normal Bard.)
