I recently reloaded Baldur's Gate II because I wanted the full install. Prior to this, the game worked fine. Now, each time I change areas, I get an error message that reads "Baldur Gate error: media removed from drive. Please insert Baldur's Gate CD -1 into CD-ROM drive." The game crashes no matter what I do. If I try to start the game with CD 1, it just asks me to put in CD 2. I have tried resetting the CD to "no read ahead" and have purged the cache\data folder. I am running:

    Athalon 650 with K7M motherboard
Asus Deluxe 6800 video card with 32 MB DD RAM
    128 MB RAM
    Windows 98 SE

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

i would move all saved game files, purge the cache, uninstall the game, and try again.

Might just be a bad installation. Also check your cd's for any scrathes or dirt. Maybe they need a good cleaning :D

Check your baldur.ini file and make sure under [Alias] that where it says CD?:= that it is pointing to the directory where you installed the files from that CD.It sounds like the game can't find the files.

It's likely Captain Spud is talking about a less than legal remedy which we don't like to see on these boards...
