[IMG] Okay I've installed BG2 twice and this problem has happened both times.

The problem: I decided to install the coll ed cd stuff and a dialog box came up saying bg2 wasn't installed. I therefore think that the file is corrupt, I downloaded it from here so maybe it got corrupted on its way to my computer. NOPE! Next step: I try to install the patch and the same thing happens. I'm very confused by then and decide to play the game straight from the box, no patch, no coll ed cd, I click on the shortcut put in my start menu by the stupid installer and it says bg2 isn't installed! I then decide to check the registry, there are a few entries in there with BG2 on them. I know the installer put them there because I had removed all traces of it from my computer when I decided that I wanted to play IWD for a time. (not enough space for both) I was just wondering if anyone can email a copy of the registry entries for BG2 to me so I can get the game running properly. I'm currently bypassing the baldur.exe by running bgmain.exe directly so that I can fulfill my addiction. Thanks for any help guys and gals.

[IMG] How about just installing it over the old one again? Just keep your savegames while you're at it and you should be fine.

I have noticed the setup/install issues with this game. Not only are there entries into your registry but there is also an additional log in your C:bad:Program Files. A sub directory (for NT & 9x users) named Install Shield has BG2 Installation log and setup files entered into it. In fact on one of my Computers it placed install & setup information into that directory twice.

You seem knowlegeable about the registry so if push comes to shove you can go to the Software\........\Uninstall key and delete related BG2 finds as well as delete the BG2 related folders in your \\Program Files\Install Shield\... location. -Of course this allows you the opportunity to re-install EVERYTHING correctly.

Post if you still need any clarifications.
