Lvl 9 Wizard spells - WTF

    [​IMG] Can anyone tell me why you can never get access to Lvl 9 wizard spells??? I've tried boosting his stats to 18 but he still only ever gets 2 or 3 spells to memorise at lvl 8!!

    You'll need to attain higher levels than what you have to get 1 1st level spell, but then I'm not even sure if it's in the engine and supported to memorize.

    If you don't have an experience cap remover, the cap is just below the threshold for 9th level spell memorization...

    I think it's just below the level where Jaheira could challenge for the Druid Grove as well...

    Thats what I thought, but in that case, whats the point in having them??

    Blackthorn - about the druid thing, I played through as a druid shapshifter and you do get to advance to lvl 14.

    P.S. where can I get an exp cap remover???

    You can find an experience cap remover right here under the BG2 Editors, Hacks and Custom Characters section.

    As far as druids, yes that's true, but Jaheira is a multiclass fighter/druid, so I don't think she'll make it. IIRC the cap is under 3000000 and her next levels are both 1500000...

    Oh... and the point of having them is for your ememies to cast at you! :) But, really, you can cast them from scrolls; you don't have to memorize them...

    [​IMG] err. . . excuse me! But I don't recall ever asking where anything else is on the site! In fact I actually refer other people to the solution guides etc. So TAKE THAT BACK! (please).

    I am guilty however of asking loads of questions about the game, specifically, AD&D rules and am glad to say that this board has been very helpfull.

    Sigh...good old Planescape Torment where you could cast Celestial Host or Abyssal Fury.
    Both are level 9 spells, by the way.

    I never was high enough to memorize them... Cast em from the scrolls.

    Telex, unless my memory is failing me there has been a similar issue. But ok, I believe you. We get many people here so I guess I could be wrong. ;)

    Hmm, the Foul Beasts section would be my responsibility. I'll redo the NPC listing with correct stats and portraits today and do the beasts section over the weekend.

    [​IMG] You can memorize 9level spells even though you have low intelligence (I believe you must have intelligence above 18 to do that). Just drink a potion of intelligence to boost up the stats momentarily. You can still cast the spell after the potion wears off. Use the Xcap remover to reach mage level18 and above. I am replaying the game for the 3rd time. This time though, I am planning a solo showdown wt Jon Irenicus. Magic vs Magic. Give him a taste of his own medicine!! Cheers
