Lost item pile

OK in my TuTu game I was having fun in Durlag's dungeon. I have created wine from the magical grapes to give to four warders. It was then Immy bit the dust as she overlooked a lightning trap, which bounced and bounced and killed her. I had my party carry most of her inventory, but I left a few items on the ground, ammunition, potions, amulet of protection, and the magical wine bottle.

I went to Temple near Beregost to get Immy a quick raise. When I came back though, the entire dungeon was like reset, there were new monsters (spiders, battle horrors, even a bunch of zombies), and more importantly, the item pile I left on the ground was nowhere to be seen! I am sure, as I have put a sign on my map to find them. Guess they just dissapeared? I was lucky that I was able to carry Legencase robe, bracers, poison staff, eagle bow and stealth boots and lots of wands otherwise they would be gone too. Though it hurts to lose 100+ arrows of piercing+4.

But what's game breaking is, I have lost the wine bottle as well! I completed other warder's quests and Love had nothing to say to me as I did not have the wine in my inventory. Needless to say I was stucked and annoyed.

Did this happen to you? I had to open up SK and put the wine back into my inventory, and only then, the four warders agreed to battle me. (and one scored a nasty crit. hit on my wild mage for 46 dmg, which was nearly a one hit kill, ouch!)

Do you know why this happens, and in which areas? Are all item piles on the ground destined to dissapear in TuTu? In how much time? Does this apply also to quest items? I guess so... Does this also apply to BG2? Hmm, gotta be more careful, I think.

Yes. Ground piles disappear after a while; stuff left in containers should remain indefinitely.

Now, the wine bottle is a problem. It should have had the quest item flag set--this prevents it from being disintegrated, from party members leaving with it, from being sold, etc. For now I'd just console it back into your game (_misc1a) and keep going.
