[IMG] I recently loaded up my save gave of 4th level caharacters in Nulb and noticed my fighter had only 2004 exp. Is there a way I can get him back up the the proper experience liek the rest of the party? I tried using a hex editor but could not find a reference to 2004 (h7d4) in the save game file. How can I correct this bug. If I can't fix it I doubt I will be starting the game over AGAIN. And I would really like to play the game through. Thanks

EXCELLENT INITIATIVE on trying to use a hex editor!!!

That 2004 experience will appear as "D40700" when you do a search for it. To give yourself 65350 experience (I've no idea with 4th level characters have), it will appear like this: 46FF00

When you plug "65350" into the Windows calculator, and convert it to hex, it will give you back "FF46.0000000".

You need to "turn it around". It has to do with the way the computer works. In decimal, the smallest denomination is on the right. When you are work with computers (a hex editor, to be specific), the smallest denomination has to be on the left.

So do a search for "D40700" and you'll get a hit. Then change it to whatever you want.

"FFFFCC" would be the hex equivalent of "13,434,879.000000000". That's a right fair amount of experience to have, and you're likely to crash the game! ;)

Ok so my other characters have 9845 experience so that would be 752600 turned around?

I cannot find a reference to D40700 or just D407 or if I'm correct above to 7526.

What file should I be editing? I currently tried all my ".tfaf" files in the save directory. Perhaps experience is not stored similarly to gold, which is what I based this edit on.
