I heard that a multi classed monk will lose their BAB's unarmed as compared to a single class. Can anyone in the technical area of the game confirm this. It seems very cheap to entice people into multiclassing a monk and then lose everything. I have done a multiclass monk but the level is still low and I can't tell.

    Cheers.

This is how I understood it:
Monk gets the special Monk BAB (with 3 difference between attacks instead of 5) only when fighting unarmed. Further, when fighting unarmed, only his monk levels count for the BAB (except for the first attack).
    Example:
You give your monk 3 levels of fighter: this gives him +3 to his first attack.
If your monk-only levels give him +8/+5/+2 (example), his unarmed attacks will become: +11/+5/+2 (add +3 to first attack only), and his attacks with a weapon will be +11/+6/+1 (5 difference, like a rogue).

    It's messy for sure.
