From the trailer, Lionheart looks crappy to me. i know story is important, i know character development is important but this is still a computer game, graphic and sound are two basic yet important requirements.

If you can settle for crappy graphic and sound, why not play pen and paper? If you can settle for pen and paper, why not play with your imaginary friends? (no offense to PnP-ers)

It looks as if Black Isle is seriously lacking of software engineers who can come out with something new. They just (in Chinese saying) keep serving overnight dishes (keep recycling Infinity Engine). Overnight dishes are not healthy. People might get food poisoned.

Please, who are studying software engineering go to apply for a job in Balck Isle.

BIS isn't making Lionheart, they hired Reflexive Entertainment to do it.

Actually the graphics look pretty good. I never was much for mediocre 3D anyway. Only thing I'm worried about is that 1 vs. 10 000 fighter Diablo syndrome the screenshots are plagued with. And that no character seems to be able to stand, they're all in middle-step while "standing". And that's lame if something is.

Could you extand a bit please? At least explain the relationship between interplay, bis and this reflexive entertainment.

OK. Interplay owns BIS. BIS is Interplay's RPG division. But BIS do not make all the RPGs themselves, but in some cases hire other people to do it for them. Such was the case with BioWare, which was hired by BIS to make Baldur's Gate. After game development is done, BIS publishes the said CRPG.

Same case with Lionheart now, only that BIS hired Reflexive to make it for them.

(This is a very simplified version of events, but it should give you the right idea.)

There are so many people thinking that graphic is the most important thing in a game. Well, I can't disagree more. Sure, it's nice with some cool effects etc. but lately some of the games with good graphics lack the thing the games without good graphic have. Gameplay, high replay value and a story.

That's the point. Saying that graphics don't matter is equally stupid as claiming that the looks of a person don't matter. It matters, and a lot. But it isn't the only thing that counts. Just one of the few that're most important.
