Enjoy a daily read of the forum almost as much as the game. This will be the first RPG I've ever played to the end; fighter now but will play again as a mage. I was just wondering what game to play after Planescape. Waiting for Morrowind and Wizardry 8, but interested in what some of you have done next. I'm gone.

[IMG] If you like hack and slash then I would lean towards Icewinedale and its expansions(Heart of Winter and Luremaster{free download}). If you want more of a trilogy story type then go with Baldur's Gate series.None of the other two are as much fun though, but they are still good games.

Hack & Slash is fine, but can get a little boring. I think that's why I like Planescape so much, there's a real story to the game. Had just upgraded my machine so I could play BG2 when I saw Torment for $19. No regrets.

If you want to choose whether to hack & slash or not, get the two Fallouts. If you wan't hack & slash, buy Icewind Dale, BG and BG2.

I'm really looking forward to Torn, Black Isle's other game-in-development.

Any idea on the Torn release date? I've heard good things about it too.

I'm really not sure where to go after Planescape. Fallout is in the lead right now but after Planescape, will any of the other RPG seem as fun? Planescape's story is what got me hooked and nothing I've seen really compares to that. I'm reduced to buying 3 year old playstation games to try to find an interesting story :(

[IMG] Fallout is an excellent idea, forgot all about it. One of those games I wanted but never picked up. Sounded exciting at the time because it was supposed to be the sequel to Wasteland. Anyone played Fallout and Fallout 2 for comparison?

Yes, they are good. I like Fallout2 more, because of more freedom and a larger world. Fallout was good too, and should be played if only so you know the events which lead to Fallout2. Besides, there are many jokes in Fallout2 which you won't understand if you haven't played Fallout first. I'd say go for those two if you don't want to wait for Pools of Radiance.

Release for Torn is aimed for Q4 next year, I believe. Don't hold your breath(cuz its more than a year away...you'd die).

[IMG] My local Eloectronics Boutique has Fallout 2 with a free Fallout CD for $12, so I should have them before weeks end. What's the storyline for Torn? Haven't heard of this one. Does it sound like competion for Morrowind?

I'm not entirely sure of the storyline(but it does use the Fallout rules). I plan on being a sidhe male with a smattering of abilities, prominently Chaos magic. Should be fun :)

Yeah, and all of us actually have a computer good enough to play it.
*mutters about the P2 400 mhz minimum requirements*
Not that the morrowind thingie sounds like it would work either. *sigh*

[IMG] WHAT!?

For all Torn waiters like me check Black Isle's avoiding the straight answer on this rumor here: http://feedback.blackisle.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=13&t=000417

If it is true, no matter. Couldn't believe that 3D RPG can be good... And that I mean for NWN too.

    *praying that they cancel NWN*
    *whining that they cancel NWN*
*preparing bribes so they cancel NWN*

And Arcanum is almost released :p

[IMG] I can recommend Blade Runner. You don't exactly have much influence on the game, not even on the dialoge, but just as in Torment you feel like you are there. Especially the videos ROCK. Awfully short though.

From the Torn homepage: "Black Isle Studios' title, TORN, has been canceled. In conjunction with the cancellation, five of the 56 member Black Isle Studios staff were laid off. All of the remaining members of the TORN team are now working on other internal Black Isle Studios RPG products."
