    Hi all,

Playing through BG1, I've done Nashkall and Cloakwood mines but haven't been to Baldur's Gate yet - I decided instead to do Durlag's Tower.

My PC is now at Level 7 and most of my party are now at 6/7 too.

Have I levelled up too quickly?

If you've done all the quests prior to BG, gone to the Bassilisks forest (great source of XP), and killed everything evil under the sun... yep, it's quite possible to be already level 7.

I tend to do hit the XP cap sometime in Durlag's Tower, and I complete TotSC in chapter 5 before doing much in Baldur's Gate. So this seems about right.

Without Tales of the Sword Coast installed, I usually reach the XP-cap with a six-man party when I finish the Bandit camp.. :)

Wonder if I should try an xp-cap remover.. Could be fun.. :)

The XP cap is an artificial restriction anyway, not quite in keeping with the 2e rules. So the decision becomes: do you respect the programmer's decision to limit you, or follow the 2e rules? I usually pick the latter, but only because I'm a stickler. ;)

Perhaps a bit off topic, but if I install the xp-cap remover, will i be able to not only get mor hit points and stuff, but also mage spells from level 1 to 9?
Or cleric spells up to level 7? Or hasn't the high level spells been programmed for Baldurs Gate?

Level 6 and above spells are not included in the game, and there is a very poor selection of level 4 and 5 spells. But there isn't enough experience in the game to get you high enough level to cast level 6 or above, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you were planning to solo a few times in a row with the same developing character.

If you install an XP cap remover, do the extra XPs transfer to BG2? Or if you import your character do you still get the 161,000 XP maximum (not that this couldn't be fixed by using SK). Also, can the XP disabler be installed mid-game?

When I transfered over my dual classed party, I got the 161,000 XP for each.

Actually BG2 is a bit funky on this, when you import a character from bg1 -> bg2:
-If he have less than 89 000 XP he gets increased to 89 000 XP.
-If he have between 89000 and 161000 XP he keeps the same XP.
-If he has above 161000 XP he will be redused to 161000 XP.

This can of corse raise levels, i dont recal if it can reduse levels max, or just set XP to low.
