    [IMG] Hi,

I need all you knowledge about golem butt-kicking.

We all know that tey are different kind of golems. Stone, iron, clay, etc etc.

I just learned that clay golem can only be killed with blunt weapons. Anyone have any other informations about all the other kind of golems?

    What are the other kind?

    How to kill them?

    thanks!

[IMG] Golems have low armor class but try this. Cast magical resistance with your cleric, then cast lower resist with your mage (1 or 2 times), cast greater malison. Have your cleric cast slay living.

[IMG] There are 4 different types, iirc, Stone, Clay, Iron and Adamantinum (I could be wrong on the spelling, so let's call them Adam Golems, ok ? :). They all have exceptionnal strenght, going from 21 for Stone to 24 for Iron and Adam, so they are lethal in melee combat.

Also, Stone and Clay Golems can Haste themselves, and more important, Slow your party once per x rounds. Try to take them out one at a time. The tactic Fergus suggested might work on the biggies (Iron and Adam) if they're locked somewhere, and can't reach you, otherwise you're dead meat by the time all those spells are cast. Try tu summon some strong helpers (Fire/Earth Elemental, Aerial Servant come to mind), and make sure you retreat the characters that get the full damage before they actually die.

So, try to isolate them, cause teamed up they can be deadly for any party.

The tactics I used in DeArnise Keep, you know the room with 5 golems. Before taking items in the statue I start to attack to golem, one at the time. When you attacked one, the other stay where they are. So it was quite easy like this. But I had never been able to take out the iron golem.

But this strategy didnt work in the asylum. I tried to attack only one, but they all start to attack my party. I finally managed to wiped them out, but I had to reload a few times...

[IMG] The best way to kill any golem is Crom Faeyr; too bad you have to wait until chapter six to get it... It came in very handy in Suldanesselar though.

There is also a Sand Golem, but I don't know it's stats because it was dead almost before it knew I was there.

Crom Faeyr kills Stone, Clay and Sand Golems instantly, and does a reall good job against Iron and Adamatium Golems as well...

Let's not forget the lesser known flesh, bone and sand golems. As far as the golems in the D'Arnise Keep. Everytime you grab some treasure, two golems are activated. Make sure the first thing you do is forge the flail and secondly grab the hammer. Both these items come in handy. Make sure your party is hasted before the enslaught begins. If you give your best two fighter the hammer and the flail you can double-team the golems one at a time by getting the second golem to chase on of your non-fighters around. Also notice that two of these golems are flesh golems, and they are more vulnerable to a wider range of attacks. Beware of the iron golem's poison cloud. The best tactic for golems is one at a time.

Your THAC0 will be worse if you're not proficient in Flails. I think the Flail of Ages +3 is one awesome weapon and has been my main weapon since I put it together. Since De'Arnise Hold was the first major side quest I did, it's gone through a lot with Grub and I don't think he'll change any time soon, unless of course he finds a +4 or +5 Flail of similar properties.

    Syl...

    A couple of tips:
Try using a stone to flesh scroll on stone golems

Never use fire on Iron golems~it heals them

    Hi,

It's about the brain golems, in the brains room from the mindflayer quest.

Is it possible the these golem became immune to my weapon??

    here the story:

My dwarf beserker has 2 battle axes +3. One with extra fire damage and the other with extra cold damage. At the beginning, I did a lot of damage on him, but after a while, It started to say "weapon innefective" and the only damage the golem took was the extra damage from cold and fire. strange heh?

And Jaheira have a scimitar +1. Same thing, I have to change her weapon to a staff +?.

    Somebody please?

Hmmm... I don't know... I concentrated on the brain itself and only after it was dead did I attack the Brain Golems... Didn't have any problem...
