    [IMG]What we asked:

Q: Which of the upcoming non-D&D games also covered on BoM are you looking forward to the most?
    (761 votes total)

    Fallout 3 (321) 42%
    Diablo 3 (302) 40%
    Starcraft 2 (107) 14%
Wrath of the Lich King (WoW expansion) (31) 4%

Fallout 3 has the largest share of our visitors eagerly anticipating it with 42% of the votes from people who are looking forward to it the most.

Diablo 3 is nearly equally anticipated, with 40% of those who have voted in our poll looking forward to it the most.

Starcraft 2 has considerably fewer eager fans among our midst; only 14% of votes have been cast in its favour.

Last and apparently least is Wrath of the Lich King (a World of Warcraft expansion) that only 4% of the poll participants are looking forward to the most.

I must admit I'm a bit surprised that Fallout 3 was the most anticipated game here. I'd fully expected Diablo 3 to win that title.

At first, I wasn't going to respond to this poll at all, because I wasn't really anticipating any of these games, and it missed the all important option of "none of the above", although "none" would have sufficed as well. Of course there are those two insidious words at the end of the sentence: "the most". Which made the choice a whole lot easier.

I dislike the gameplay offered by Diablo 2, the randomness and boss runs are just a mindless bore, so Diablo 3 was right out.

I'm a bit more ambivalent about Starcraft 2, as the gameplay of the first was quite alright, and, although I do enjoy a bit of RTS every once in a while, I never play online, and I find the storylines of Blizzard RTSs (WC 3 and SC) rather depressing. You'll always end up with the short end of the stick and when you do end up on top of it at the end, everything around turns out to be a barren wasteland. So not that anticipated.

I hardly ever play online, and then certainly not RPG-esque games, where you get to grind yourself retarded trying to find teh uber-gear, only to get killed by some random [extremely censored] that enjoys killing 'n00bs' (both WoW and Diablo 2 have plenty of people playing it that are quite fine examples of this). Therefore, thoroughly not anticipating the WoW expansion.

What remains is Fallout 3, which gets promoted to most anticipated game by virtue of elimination. I love multiple choice questions. Hopefully, the game will manage to get the post-apocalyptic setting across properly, in which case there'll be reason to believe that I might enjoy the game.

No The Broken Hourglass? Or Dragon Age, for that matter? Odd poll.

Though of those, probably Diablo 3, though I doubt I'll actually play it, because I really didn't like Diablo 2. Still, it does sound like they're adding some interesting things - probably not enough to want me to grind through the repetitive gameplay though.

I suppose those two aren't included there because they are too closely related to D&D games, as Tal said: "upcoming non-D&D games".

As for the poll; I didn't get to vote (I'm slow, >_<), but would have gone for Fallout 3. IMHO Fallout 3 won because of the similarities between Fallout and the Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Planescape: Torment ect.. Diablo is a different kind of RPG (hack-and-slash dungeon crawler), whereas Fallout and Baldur's Gate (and those related) are TRUE ROLE PLAYING games. Therefore, Fallout 3 is more likely to be preferred over Diablo by many of the crawly things that inhabit these forums :D.

The poll focused on the upcoming games covered in the newly opened BoM forums; Blizzard's and Fallout.
