the killsword is placed on one of the controllers in Shadow thieves HQ. He attacks You from the shadows if You try to kill Lindvail after killing Bodhi for him.
Dont try killing him as he has more than 100.000 Hp.
I tried killing him with his own sword, which I created from the console. I dont know if it is in SK too.
I kept casting protection from Magical weapons and hit him like a minsc-frenzy...
The bloke is immortal.
The sword itself is a +1000 sword which lowers your AC to -ALOT and Your THAC0 to -50
And it works as a longbow.

 

The assassin also can't be reduced below 1 hit point, just like several other NPCs including that bastard Elhan. Don't forget the sword gives you 7 attacks and 100% mr.

(yep, but it should also haste, make permanently invisible, and have area effect damage that doesn't hurt your own party)

as it is, my bro is gonna kill Elhen, he also killed drizz't, adalon, and alot of other peoples wit lots of hps.

Is he the The avatar of Sif or some other god?

 

BG-2 has two gamepaths - (a) joining the shadowthiefs and (b) joining Bohdi.

IIRC this guy with killsword is named "godlike killer" and his job is to "correct" people who are going to turn against their own people.

Means: If you join the shadow thiefs and pickpocket or attack Aran, he´ll turn hostile and the godlike killer does the rest. It is necessary for they are a part of the game path. I´d bet that they, just like Imoen in chap-2 (girdle), have an item that prevents them from getting killed.

 

That reminds me of my good old time with BG.
There this stupic little inn in Nashkel, where you can only get a drink, you can't even sleep there. Well I saw Volo there, the writer of our beloved and trustworthy Manual and I thought, "hey, what the heck, let's kill the basterd!" So I started smashing him, every turned red, Reputation dropt to 1, Minsc, Ajantis and jaheira left me and I was still smashing Volo, after I killed those NPC's I talked about, but he wouldn't die, although he is only a level 5 wizard...
(Sigh)...That good old time...

What about that cheat that lets anyone join your party?

Couldn't you use that on the mega killer guy.

 

Perhaps that would be nice, killing Linvail and make the "controller" join You.
But then there is noone who can arrangee a voyage to spellhold and soon Your maincharacters soul will be fully taken by Irenicus. A sad way to die. No fight. No heroics. no glory.

 

A +1000 sword?

Impossible! I agree with Ragusa's opinion about that killer guy, because when I turned against the shadow thieves, who were my allies the killer machine appeared, and killed Minsc with one swing! I watched the attack roll, and it was a critical miss(he swinged his sword only once, so I suppose there was only one attack)!

So the guy allways hits - it's a cheat from the developers, to keep the game balance I think.

 

His name is Arkanis Garth, and he is really no problem if you join the vampire guild, so it must be a cheat. I believe I once casted a succesfull finger of death on him (the soul animation was there) but he didn't die.

 

Of course he is a cheat.
The game is made as in the good old days with Guybrush.Biware et al has made It mpossible to fail the mainquest without knowing. Its like playing with a safetybelt. I You mess up in the mainquest You will get killed by a "controller" or the like

I think it is too weird with those godlike "controllers". It should be possible to kill both Bodhi and Linvail and then live with the consequences of those actions. Even if it means no passage to spellhold.

 

You want unkillable, try the squirrel deity in IWD. It's the one the kids are poking with the stick. It's one tough fella.
