Killing Emmerich... I lose Ranger & Paladin status!

    I lose 3 Rep points when I kill this dude, and therefore lose my Ranger and Paladin status(es?).

    Is there any way to boost my Rep so I can get my grubby hands on that longbow of his without losing my characters?

    I even tried killing my Ranger and Paladin, but they still lose their titles. :(

    I read in a walkthrough that somebody tried it with a Paladin and the Paladin didn't fall.

    I believe there is a mod that allows you to alter your rep (by donating to temples and such). You could bring it up really high and then kill him (the loss would make you fallen).

    Have you tried finding him when he is a werewolf? I believe he will attack and you can kill him without rep loss. I'm not sure if any of his stuff is on him though.

    Perhaps this will work: export your ranger and paladin. Kill Emmerich with the others. Import your good guys.

    Maybe it has to do something with how high your reputation was before killing him. Maybe you already got a reputation loss before.
    Maybe the alignment at the start of the game affects starting reputation similar as in BG and the other player had a LG party.
    It might also be version related.

    PS: Killing him as a werewolf yields nothing and stops the quest which can yield a lot of XP.
