    [​IMG] I found a dagger that has "Keen" as one of its properties. What's that supposed to mean?

    The 'keen' enchantment doubles the critical threat range of a weapon. So for the dagger (crit 19-20/x2) the critical threat range becomes 17-20.

    It depends on how much you like critical hits I suppose. The Undead are immune to criticals, so it's worthless there. If you thought it was necessary to use one (or more) of your feats for Improved Critical feats (like I did :) ) then I'd say the weapon would be attractive.

    If not (or if you don't normally use daggers), then a weapon with better properties would be more attractive.

    Ignoring issues of hit probability, 'keen' would increase your overall damage with a 19-20/2x weapon by about 10%. On a dagger, that aint much even without factoring in all the critters immune to criticals.

    Here is an example showing the damage boost with a popular rogue weapon.

    The Rapier
    damage: 1d6
    crit: 18-20

    The math part.
    Avg dmg: (3,5*23)/20 = 4.025
    Avg dmg w keen: (3,5*26)/20 = 4.55
    Avg dmg w keen + imp crit: (3,5*29)/20 = 5.075

    Conclusion
    In this case the improvements are:
    - with keen or impr crit: +13% damage
    - with both keen and impr crit: +26% damage
