I'm using him as a First Strike and a tank dualing CF and Belm+2 (get that extra CF attack per round!).

I've got him with rings Protect+2 and Earth control, and the Shield Amulet.

His AC sucks wind. Any way to pull his ac down? All's I can think of is that wep you get off of one of the bonus merchants that lowers you 1 point, but that means losing that extra attack.
Seems to me they should have built in a way for the Kensai to lower it by himself, say as a special ability or maybe built into the Kai ... say it lowers his base to 0 for those few seconds or something...

they are not made to have a hig AC... you have done about the best you can do man! the only other way is to have your Kensai is to get laods of Potions of Stone Form of Potions of Defense.

hmmmmm... there must be some other ways i cannot think of...

I've been Barkskinning him, which drops him to like -5 for a while. A short while...
    And the Cloak of Sewers...

Cloak of sewers, high dexterity (19! Be an elf! yes, screw those self-righteous roleplayers who tell you otherwise!)
Ring of protection+2, Ring of earth control.
    Single weapon style.
    Voila, decent AC.

His armorclass decreases (increases) whatever when you go up in level right?

Shura... i wouldn't care about making an Elf with a 19 Dex, even i have done that.

i mean... a theory would be that a Kensai would be a highly dextrous type anyway, and be ducking and diving constantly to keep out the way.

the problem is if you are an elf you cannot dual class... what a pity...

The base ac you're born with, is the base ac you'll die with.

    so to speak.

Yep, only monks get a better base AC over time. And eh, no need to be an elf and get that 19 Dex, cause that doesn't change a thing to your AC compared to 18 Dex (both -4).

Or just scorf potions of agility, defense and stone form like crazy. I was talking about pure Kensai, you see. IMO, the best races for Kensai are Human(for DC), elf(for +1 to hit with longswords) and half-orc for 19 strength and constitution.
