Jahiera "dawning of our day" loop

    [​IMG] I know this is probably explained in great detail somewhere, but I can't find it. Basic problem, I'm stuck in the notorious "dawning of our day" dialogue loop with Jahiera. I used to know how to fix this...two years ago. I think I just had to bump up my lovetalk dialogue to the next number, but I can't for the life of me remember how to do this. I installed the Baldurdash Jahiera romance bugfix, but that didn't do squat.

    Any good souls out there willing to either:

    1) walk me through this bug?, or
    2) point me toward a URL that may be helpful?

    There's a site that has the name manervu somewhere within it. Besides having an improved romance script that actually works, it addresses a lot of ways to get around romance problems through the CLUAConsole.

    Considering that Jaheira is my goddess, I wish Bioware didn't punish us with such shoddiness in the original programming.

    Actually the Improved romance scripts are on "Manveru" home page ;)

    That fix really solves most of the problems, so I wonder why this fix has not been put up on SP (or was it there?) - I mean isn't Jaheira important enough???

    One slight problem is that Manveru's fix decreases the LoveTalk timers from 3600 seconds to 1800 seconds so the romance progresses very fast. It certainly feels slightly odd to bed her a month after Khalid's death, but I'm not going to turn her down... with the original timers I always had the involvement scene after Underdark, sometihng like 70 days in game time.

    Something you might want to think about ...

    I always have Imoen in my good party, so I immediately race off to find her as soon as I can. The effect is that Jaheiras dialogues come more slowly and get suspended until chapter 6. What this means is not getting the amulet, and not saving her from the bandits until Chapter 6. The end result is Jaheira's romance with all the depth, complexity, richness, and every other compliment I can laud upon Jaheira that it was meant to have. Incidentally, it also immunizes Jaheira to Bombur's arguments (no disrespect to Bombur intended).

    For future reference, you might want to consider a similar approach. Just a little food for thought I wanted to offer ...

    Yes, that's a sensible approach and I do it often, but I don't really have any problems if *that* happens before Spellhold... my suggestion/advice was more for people who might have a problem with that ;)

    Hey, my code of ethics is so low that I actually tried to poke some folks to make Jaheira romance mod for... BG1 :confused: I even promised to write all dialogues myself, but they still didn't want to do it, blast :p

    I just kinda loved the idea - for example lovetalks are only activated if Khalid is out of the sight, lol... that would have been naughty :)

    For my gaming experience, everything just falls in place so wonderfully. I like Imoen too, but in a far more little sis' kind of way.

    Either way, I'll agree that Jaheira is pretty damn hard to resist. :p ;)
