Jaheira will not stop talking

Jaheira will not stop talking - every 2 seconds she kicks off this same dialog about how she wants to get moving. The sound track is always the same "I will not tolerate this waste of time".

You have various answers, but whatever you say, 2 seconds later she asks again.

It happened one before - that time I had to reload and it was OK. Any other ideas?

Shadowmaster fix maybe?

 

Heal her! She only whines like this when low on health.

 

Also check if there is a quest somehow related to her you haven't finished yet.

 

she's only b*tchy when you haven't healed her or if you've left the harpers quest undone. Where they betray you, that one. Otherwise she either shuts Aerie up and/or flirts with you. Only bad thing is that, sometimes their fights escalate. <sigh> What can ya do?

 

I dumped her. I don't think she will be coming back. I guess you could just cast silence on her!

 

This problem with Jaheira is not an irritation, it is like a bug. I cannot do anything. I have time to hit only one key before she starts off again!

Except reload, but since it happened once before, I expect it will happen again.

She is injured though - maybe I can try to heal her.

You just have to heal her and she stops talking.

Who thinks jaheira is a really mediocre character with lousy abilities adn annoying behaviour that only deserves to be dismissed after irenicus' dungeon, join my party!

 

You have a point.. but I wanted to see what would happen if you had her for the AI romance.

 

I like Jaheira in my party.. 1st time I didn't have her, but this time I have kept her. Very nice summoning and healing abilities not to mention she's a decent fighter when you just give her something to improve her strenght. Girdle perhaps.
level 4 profencies with ninja-to is a good start..
Pretty good sub-quests too.. and not to mention she's pretty good looking. Atleast if compared to.. amm.. hmm.. ehh.. Anomen.

 

Jaheira isn't too good as a fighter but has some unique spells (among the NPCs), the ost prominent thereof: insect plague, which is great when up against groups (casters will fail, most fighters go yellow for a time).
Summoning elementals without any discussion phase is also very helpful, with proficiencies in spears, she can use lots of good stuff.

 

well, as a character Jaheira is really mediocre
strenght 15 - fighter prime requisite
wisdom 14 - druid prime requsite
(and she has a total of 88 stats!)
so she will never be as good as korgan(18 str) as a fighter or as good as cernd as a druid (18 wis)

 

A short sword in her guts will help

 

Pretend: Jaheira can use Ninja-To´s? Really??? Have you tried it? AFAIK they unfortunately, just like wakizashis, can´t be used by druids.

Hey, all the charcaters have strenghts and weaknesses. With Jaheira she will obviously not be as good at being a fighter or a druid as one who is dedictaed to the profession. However, having her means you get the abilities of 'two in one' so more experience points to share or room for another npc.
Also, having used Jaheria on two run throughs I can confirm that she becomes really useful towards the end. She gets some pretty powerful and useful spells (remember even dedicated druids max out at level 15) and she can get her AC down to about -12. So while she might not be able to inflict as much damage as a dedicated fighter on the front line, she can hold it nearly as well as anyone and still get spells off while doing it. Later on when the mages are doing most of the damage this is a very valuable means of giving them time to get their spells off.

On the fun side of things, she gets some great dialogue with Vicionia and Aerie. Having her in the party also opens up all of the Harper quests. Of course, in the end it just comes down to preferences and style of play.

I had this problem, and healing Jaheira did not help. I noticed that when the message popped up, both Jaheira and Aerie had the "talking" icon. Aerie's HP were very low, and when I healed her, it stopped... I have to imagine this is a bug, but at least there seems to be a work-around.

 

Hey, I wish I'd known all she wanted was a cure when she started babbling to me.
I got so fed up with her constant moaning that I eventually stripped her of all equipment and kicked her out of the party.

I think Jaheira is particularly good in the early-to-mid stages of the game. She can cure people, makes a passable tank if you give her enough armour and eventually she can raise dead (I needed that on more than one occasion).

Her side quests are also a bonus.

Padine the Paladin, Would you mind going and checking the date of his post..? And look at what kind of avatar he has, now I know that somepeople just ghost on the boards, but dont you think that if he had been on the boards since Mar 2001. That he would have more posts, and such?

Jaheira has excellent healing spells. So I kept her for my first run through the game.

In my current game, I dropped her in favor of Anomen. Jaheira had more healing spells than Anomen currently does.
