[IMG] Im new both at BG and this forum, so i wont be surprised that this has been answered somewhere before, or has a totally "straight-forward" explanation, but nevertheless.

Jaheira died by the curse from baron ployer because i didn't understand what to do (shame on me) and i ended up removing her from the team when she was dead.. Is there now any way for me to get her back into the team???

And for Cernd, in the (first?) fight with Bodhi he died, pretty normal i thought, but i cant ressurect him? I've tried wasting several thousands at temples, mage spells, a rod of ressurection, but he is still dead! What should i do?? I liked that guy. I'm currently in the underdark, and ended up replacing him to.. I don't suppose i can bring him back either, but i'd really like to know why he just ended up
    "un-ressurectable"

This thread should help. Basically, you're out of luck on Jaheira, but raise Dead should work on Cernd.

Dang man, sorry to hear that.

I've tried using the Rod of Resurrection and Raise Dead scrolls on people who are not in my party, and it hasn't worked for me.

If Cernd died via and Imprisonment Spell, then you can buy a Freedom scroll from the Deurgar (sp?) encampment in the Underdark. And when you go back to the spot where Cernd died, read the Freedom scroll, and he'll come back, but that is only if he died by the Imprisonment Spell.

I totally feel you on the Jaheira loss....I needed to read the walkthrough on mikesrpgcenter.com for me to get that particular quest right.

Aarie and Anomen have many of the same spells as the Druids (though not all of course), and Anomen can tank well, so if all else fails, recruit those folk when you go back to Athkatla if you don't have them already.

Yeah, i'll try getting some freedom scrolls then.. Currently i'm using I'm using Aerie, but not Anomen. Had him for a while, but he had such a weird attitude :p

Sure hope Cernd was imprisoned then, he had some of my best items :aww:

Hopefully you know that when a character dies, you can pick up the items he had on him when he died just like you would a monster.

Also, was Cernd's picture still on the right-hand side of the screen but turned all grey? If so, then you can use a spell to raise him by selecting the spell, then clicking on his gray portrait. If Imprisonment was used then just do what Neerjad said. If Cernd just suddenly disappeared without any warning (meaning you didn't kick him out or kick him out when he's dead) and it was during a fight with a powerful mage, then there's a good possibility that he was Imprisoned. His portrait in the right-hand corner will disappear only if he leaves the party, is dead and you kick him out, or he's Imprisoned.

PS: Don't use a walkthrough, please. I think everyone should beat the game first on their own, then if you want, use a walkthrough to find out what you missed. At the very least, use a walkthrough that doesn't give any descriptions, as it will ruin some of the really cool parts in the game (like Adalon, Firkraag and where they say "a good surfacer is a dead surfacer" :) )

[IMG] If he is no longer in your party - his picture isn't on the side - you cannot ressurect him

If he is still there though you should be able to.

In the manual(ability table), it said that if a npc has low cons, then the chances of being ressurect will also be low. Maybe, Cernd suffered too much damages to be ressurected(like the others have said, if the npc's portrait disappear, then it's reload time). It happens to my npc too, when I was a very new newbie to BG2. As far as I know, the only way is to prevent Cernd from dying, which means you better have a save with you(before Cernd dies). As for Jaheira, I also think that it's over for her, unless, you also have a save(before she dies) which you can quickly cure her curse.

Btw, Bodhi or her pups never cast any imprisonment on my party, so I am wondering if I missed out something?

Bodhi can't imprison. A freedom scroll won't do a blasted thing. Cernd died of level drain. Unless you're at an easy difficulty, you're SOL. He can't be resurrected. The only way to get either of them back is cheating. Either reload the game, or get Aerie and Anomen.

In other words, im pretty much screwed.. At least it would appear as that to me! Well, i't doesn't matter much any longer really, i've started a new game now anyway :p
But thanks for the help anyway! I'd suppose i at least learned something; Save often ;) But wouldn't saving to be a little cheesy? you cant just save the game in real life, you only get one shot. (would that be off-topic? Hmm...)

    Well, it's not real. It's a game.

Press 'Q' to quick-save. Do it often.

[IMG] The makers of the game tell you to always save.

In all DnD games you have to save.

Has anyone ever played games like Dungeons of Moria, Nethack, Hack, Larn, Angband?

These are all Public Domain DnD games, and through that I learned that saving is a constant responsibility!

Even if you won a fight, you might not have won the best way you could have, because you didn't know all about the monster till after the fight (ie- you might not have known that Demon Knights can level drain).

Even from a role-playing perspective, what were you and Imoen doing all that time in Candlekeep? Hopefully spending a little time reading books in the library concerning all these monsters (like the new Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual in bookstores!) and Volo's adventuring guides!

So don't feel any shame in saving dude! The people who made the game even encourage it! And DnD computer games *historically* have proven it is neccessary! :thumb:

i'd suppose so. I'd like to see the one who finishes the whole game without loading a single time  That would be pretty impressive!

Yeah it would, considering that I doubt that anyone could stay up long enough to finish BG2 in a single-sitting :D .

How long time do you use? All subquests and stuff?
The game final fantasy 7 has a commercial that says beat the game without saving. That's like 70 hours of work, once you have done the game a few times. One of my friends finished it without saving Actually! but not in one single sitting though.. He left the game on pause. That would be possible, no?

Unfortunately, leaving BG2 on pause isn't a great idea, since timers and such (for banters and most stuff in the Underdark) still tick.
