Items disappearing from inventory...?

Has anyone else had problems with items disappearing? I had no problems at all (that I noticed) until reaching the asylum; since then things are going walkies too often for my liking. First to drop out the bottom of my backpack was a shield, no great loss; but I then found the Gesan bowstring, got all excited - and realised the bow shaft had vanished from my inventory . The only saved game I have with it is about 12 hours' worth of playing time back, so I'm loathe to go back to it.

It's happened a couple more times too; I noticed all of a sudden Aerie wasn't doing much, and when I checked her inventory her sling, mage robe, a ring and a necklace had gone; and there must be a hole in the Bag of Holding too, as a couple of things disappeared from there.

Is there a patch out/due out to resolve this problem? Or is there a way to avoid it? (I use quick saves a lot, is it related to that)? Any ideas/solutions would be welcome, as it seems to be happening with increasing freequency and I'll soon end up wearing nought but my underpants at this rate .

 

Do you have the sentient sword from the sewers? Its kinda cursed, and one of the things it does it that it will eat magical items. So that might be the case. If not its probably a bug.

 

maybe equipping really good weapons might help,or else find a chest or table that is in the area youre working on and use that as a storage place,maybe outside the copper coronet in chap 2 then in youre stronghold,items though must be placed in a chest or on a table,bit of a pain in the arse but better than losing valuable items all the help i can offer im afraid
