Ok I've got my charater and he tavels around. I beat the campain. I use the DM tools to creat my own house to store treasure. I then go on the net and get treaser and such. Then put bring my charater back to put the treasure in my house. Is this posable?

[IMG] I read that 3 times and I think I know your question. The answer is why? You are talking about 3 totally different things; the single player campaign, the DM campaign builder, and multi-player on the net.

If you playing in a 'normal' multi-player MMORPG they will not allow you to import a high level character or any items due to game balance and cheaters. Thus the character you start playing with would have nothing to do with either the single player campaign or any modules you build using the DM tools.

    Did that help at all?

I think part of his question is "storage". Can you unload some of those scrolls and potions in an off-line safe house to keep them safe. I'm guessing no beause 1) thieves are a part of the game and someone you cross might try to filpher you for revenge; 2) storing goods off-line opens the possibility for cheats "What, I really did have 50 potions of extra-healing :holy: ;3) one of the "benefits" of joining a guild like AORTA is that they will pitch in together to get a safehouse and hire guards, if your off-line house was allowed, the guilds wouldn't need this.

Another question this makes me think of is ... "What happens in my games if a real world event interrupts the game?" Say my baby has a poopy diaper or my dial connection fizzles ... does my PC just warp out of the game? does he freeze and get mauled? my real life is very chaotic, so I'm a little worried about this one!

[IMG] That question has been raised before. I'm not sure what the answer would be. I don't think just letting your PC disappear would be fair. Some twink would simply cut his connection every time he was about to die. I think having an inactive period after log-off is the best way to do this. Your PC stays around for say 30 seconds after you log off and then disappears. This would prevent twinks from using this tactic. On the down side if you connect drops in the middle of a fight you are rather screwed. I'm not really sure how to handle is issue. Any those from others?

That did help alot. Another thing came to my mind as I was reading. 1)I have to have a different charater for every game I play(mulity, single). 2) When playing mulity player my charater will never dissapear so that any one who comes across me while I'm off line will be able to kill me and take my things. This is what I got from reading your posts. I'm probley off, just cheaking though.

    1) Yes, you would have two different PC for the simlpe and multi-player campaigns. 2) No, usually the PC only stays around for 30 seconds to 1 minute after you log off then it disappears until you log back in. Does that clear things up?

DRSW ... the good thing about NWN's point buy system is that you could create the exact same character for your multi-player game as your off-line game...they would progress differently, but you could "role-play" them pretty much the same.

The single- and multiplayer game are one and the same. Singleplay = Multiplay alone.

You can play with the same character on both. Some server might not allow you, but if they do, you can adventure there and if you quit you can start a singleplayer game and dump your stuff there.
