Is there as much conversation in BG1 as in BG2?

I've been playing BG2 Shadows of Ahm, but have not tried BG1. After first playing Icewind Dale with 6 self-created characters and no conversation, I was surprised to find BG2 with a lot of NPC's wanting to join my party, and a lot of conversations going on between them, and even romances with my main character thrown in for good measure.

How is BG1 compared to these games? Is there as much conversation as in BG2, or is it silent, like Icewind Dale? Do you meet NPC's who join you in BG1, and do they talk to you or eachother? Is there romance in BG1?

Which game does BG1 resemble most, BG2 or IWD?

[IMG] There isn't any romances in BG although you do get to recruit NPC's like in BG2. As for the conversations, it's all vocal, unlike in BG2 where the dialogue would show up and the game would pause, and it's very sparse compared to BG2. Overall it's more like BG2, but if you miss the IWD style you can create the entire party yourself in a multiplayer game and play it like that. Still a very good game though and fun to play through then use the same character in BG2. :)

BG1, is the perfect game, for it is just like BG1 but without romances :)

There's less talking in the game but the game is really worth playing.
