It is very good. You must own Baldur's Gate 2 to play Throne of Bhaal.
It is a fantasy role playing game based on the Dungeon and Dragons rules.
    Edit:

What games are like it? Have you played other CRPGs? It's kind of like Fallout in a fantasy setting (as opposed to post-nuke). It's kind of like some of the older Ultimas (6,7). It's kind of like the Might and Magic series, except it uses a third person perspective.

Yeah! I like all the Forgotten Realm series and currently started to collect them.

Among them BG ToB is the best!

ps. From what I know, released games on Forgotten Realm are:
BG series, IWD series, Pool of Radiance.

is there anyone I left out?

Planescape: Torment is not Forgotten Realm story rite?

Nah, Torment is set in the Planescape setting.

  6. Well... I would go for ToB, but you should get SoA first. (SoA: Shadows of Amn, ToB: Throne of Bhaal)
